Formula vs. STi Well I had a run in with a formula yesterday on the way home from work. The raod wasn't busy at all, so I was game. Here's how it went down....
I was in the slow lane, just putting along in no rush and I see a pontiac comming up from behind. Seeing as how it was sooooo nice out, I knew he would be game. I let him pass me to make sure what I'm up against. Well, it looked pretty much like a HS kid and his stock v8 formula. Well, I noticed he looked over as he passed, so I swung out right behind him to get around traffic. Instead of lining up and doing any honking, this kid just guns it as I pull to the slow lane. I was like WTF!! Anyway, right as I see him stop it, I mash the pedal(5th, but should have been 4th) and give chase. We went from about 65-110 or so. He had probably about a 3-4 car lead, until my rpms hit my power band. All I can was wow! I yanked up on the kad as if he was standing still. I got him by about 2 cars all said and done since there was traffic ahead. I gave him the thumbs up and he did the same. It was just too bad that he had his gf with him.

Dave you gonna make it to the dyno day @ Dez?? I'd love to see that ss in person. I want to see what my car can do in comparison since your avtar/profile says 12sec club. Or is that old news by now??

thers is no badding on the rear of a formula. it just says firebird on the rear and on the side it says fromula.

I saw a camaro 3.4L V6 with 8 exhaust tips, sounded like it was connected to a glasspack type exhaust. I dont know who makes this setup...But the kid was a white trash douche bag that hot lapped main street doing one wheel peels, I wanted to kick his face off his head...
Sounds to me like you raced a V6 Firebird. And LS1 would have owned you like a little ricer, and an LT1 would still have held you off without a problem.
STi's don't have jack from a roll, especially considering they only put down 230WHP. Obviously the car you raced wasn't a V8, or the guy didn't feel like wasting his gas on you

Yeah the formula didn't seem right. It kinda looked like just a sticker as well. I'm pretty sure it was a V8, but not sure if it truely was a formula. Even if it were stock I find it hard to believe he could have taken me. *shrug*
No I'm defintaly not stock pushing max 20psi. I have header back,intake,a custom tune and a bunch os suspension bits. I go next week for a dyno and schedule matinence. I sould be low 12s, and putting down 300+ on the dyno.
Dave- I can't wait to hit up the track to see what she has. I know that Dannows6 will be my main competitor, but he's still a little faster than I am. It'll all depend on the launch. After we fixed scott's(silvergt03) car, we went out for a bit and I launched my car perfectly. Even Dan was impressed.

It said formula on the rear end, and it had 8 pipes. They were paired pipes so it looked like this.

If there was a formula on the back of the car, left side bumper right? It's a LT1. I have a 98 with the LS1, doesn't have it on the bumper but my 97 Formula does.
