Procharged cobra vs KB 350Z Ok, my friend has a 97 cobra with two of everything on it. The most important mods is a D-1 procharger with a 2.75 pulley making 20 lbs of boost and a meth kit from cooling mist. We took the car to the dyno last weekend and got it somewhat tuned but it's not done. We ran out of time so all he got was a base tune without the meth. The car still put down 514 rwhp. He had been having problems with belts breaking so we put a 8-rib setup on it and it was working perfectly. His alternator went out though and when he changed it he got some antifreeze on the belt and nailed on it with it still on the belt which caused it to slip and eat the grooves off the bottom of the belt. The race with the 350 had already been set up though and we couldn't find another belt anywhere so we just sprayed some sticky belt dressing on it and hoped for the best. The 350 has a Kenne Bell, meth and 4000 dollars of suspension and slicks.
So, we go to the 350's racing spot at a bridge that had "350Z road" painted on it because he had never been beat there. We both know the guy so it was just for fun. My friend said he was too nervous to drive the car so I said I would. My car has been down for two months now and I had the itch anyway. The first race he got me about a half a car out of the hole. Second, I pull a half a car ahead of him and then I miss third.
Next race he gets me about the same out of the hole. I hit second and leave him because he misses second.
The third race he gets me a half a car again off the line. Second, I run him down and pass him again getting about a car on him. Third, the belt finally gives and starts slipping badly. The car only made 10 lbs of boost so he slowly catches back up. Fourth, the car only makes 5 lbs of boost and is bogging really bad so the Z gets about half a car ahead for the win.
A new belt goes on this week and the car will be final tuned with the meth. There is already another race set up for next weekend.

It is way off. There was a lot of problems with the car once it got on the dyno. It took all day and several trips to the auto parts store to get it ready. Once it was there was only enough time left to make the first tuneable run. It's still running rich and needs a few degrees of timing added still. The tuner said he'll be over 600 when it's done.

Yep, it's the smallest blower I've ever seen. It just looks cute but it'll run pretty good, hell it'll run really good! The guy called my friend today and they decided to do it again Wendsday afternoon so I'll get a pic of the charger then if he'll let me.

KB 350z?????? I have never heard of this before, I wasnt even aware that KB made a kit for the 350z?.... any info on the numbers..........
I ran a procahrged 350z a couple of weeks ago and we were dead even till 120 .... he was running a conservative tune though.....

are you sure its a KB? if it is it must be some sort of custom job, because to my knowledge it does not exist....
the only blowers out for the 350 that I know of are HKS, Vortech, Procharger and Stillen...

Were supposed to run again this weekend. I asked him about the KB, he said they special built it but idk. I'll be sure to get a pic of the plate on the blower. I've seen the blower several times I just took his word for the brand and never looked any closer. It's a black roots style charger, I do know that. Anyway, should be running him again this weekend and my camera is fully charged.
