Default Energy Suspension Front Sway End Link

I'm attempting to bolt up my front sway bar with the energy suspension endlinks, and I can't get the nut started on top - the threads are midway in the top bushing. I'm pretty sure I have everything seated. I'm using part number 9.8118R on a 2000 Z28. They are the same overall length as the stock endlinks, but the spacer and bushings are not allowing me to start the nut. The car is on a kwiklift with btw (similar to a 4-wheel ramp but parallel). Thanks!

I just used the new bushings on the old bolt and old spacer and it I had enough thread to start by hand. The rear end link kit worked fine, but I don't know what's up with the fronts - they're catalog shows that part number as the corrent end link too. Oh well, the bushings are what matter anyway.

my thread.

your best bet bro is to cut a 1/4 inch off the metal spacer.

I used a dremel and those $6 cutting wheels from lowes.
Stop struggling and just do that. trust me,
Good luck.

i got mine on fine. same part # and everything. got em on both at stock height and lowered, suspension unloaded and then the 2nd time loaded. very odd.

the last time i had to move the endlinks around a bit and "point" them in one direction in order to get the threads started but it only took a few minutes of wiggling and adjusting. helps if you have a friend. i think i installed endlinks first then D bushings.

Is the suspension compressed with the car's weight, or is it hanging, with the car up on a jack? If it's hanging, you have one hell of a time.........

I ground a bit off the spacer with my dremel as suggested and everything bolted up. Before grinding, I unbolted everything and tried again wiggling in every angle for 15 mins....no luck. The front suspension was loaded the whole time. Thanks for the info!

Glad you got it bro. Now go out and test it. Ideally going about 65 down the road and act like a Kodiak jumped out in front of you and try to avoid it!
