What is the best shock to get for the rear.. Street and Strip..

I think you are going to get a lot of biased answers on this one. Most will say "Brand X, cause I use it and I love it." I think most shocks will do the job, but you should be more specific on what you want out of them. I haven't seen many people complain about Konis (which is what I have), but they are pricey. I think some are happy with Bilsteins as well. Someone else help me out on this. FWIW, I have a Koni 4/4 setup and have zero complaints about them.

i drive my car alot but also go to the track.. Does anybody make a 50/50 for the rear..

A good budget three way adjustable rear shock is the Competition Engineering brand. But, if you have the money Strange Engineering, QA1 (HAL), or Afco.

You don't need adjustable rear shocks but if you're going to the track it would be a good idea.

Believe it or not, a fellow racer in our Challenge Series who had Competition Engineering (C/A) 3 way adjustables in his 12.00 second '90 F-Body with Automatic told me of these:

They're like the Same. Not Made in China. (Made by Doetsch?)

I checked the instructions and they said made in Japan,Mexico,USA,allover etc. But not China.(no offense)

Anyway, I bought them just because my Stock originals were dead, and my 60 fts.at the track had gone from 1.65-1.67 on 315/35x17 DR's, to mid 1.70's before my tires also went away. Mind you I also tried another set of DR's, just to make sure it was the shocks, and not the DR's.
Well, I had to replace the DR's so figured these couldn't be any worse than the dead stockers. Adjusted them to the middle setting (Firm). Car hooked back at 1.65-1.67! For Real. Now mind you my ride only runs high 11's with no P/A in under '75* weather,(11.90's-12.00's in the Fla. Heat, and I weigh 250+) but These Summit "junkers?" actually are great bang for the buck with my setup. (In sig.)

I see the price went up about $6 bucks each since last November. But I called the Tech Line before anything else to make sure they fit a '93-'02 Camaro/Firebird since they weren't listed. Summit said they do.
They did fit fine and easy, and for $69 bucks shipped, I have to admit they work great in my A4 Formula which I race in the local 1/4 mile Challenge Series at PBIR here in SE Fla.
Whatever you do, I atleast wanted to share this with anyone who cares....

How can those shocks claim "total suspension control" when you don't have independent adjustments for rebound and compression? Adjusting it changes both, even if you only want to adjust one. Hardly what I would call "total suspension control". I'm not saying they are no good, just pointing out that is an obvious false claim.

Your original post is vague and kinda misleading. If you're looking for a cheap 50/50 fixed drag shock, Lakewood makes a shock that's spec'd for a 3rd gen f-car but they work for 4th gens as well. The competition engineering adjustables are ok, but the settings on the tube are tricky and inconsistent. Good luck

Don't think he wants the best. If you want an adjustable shock and do some drag racing and don't honestly care you are getting the best ride or performance on the control side. Spend less than $400 on a set of AGX's.

You get adjustment. You get a better control damper than QA1's... and you don't break the bank. Not the best, but better than QA1 (which aren't even gas charged to keep foaming and shock fade down, wtf?).
