I been thinking about upgrading my bottom end with katech rod bolts and wondering how hard it would be to do it inside car so I need to take the k member off I been searching but can't find it does anyone know where there's a write up on someone who's done this ...

 

Just hold the motor from the top and disconect lower control arms at the k member and make sure your brakes lines aren't attached the k member then unbolt it

 

Ok so ill give that a shot and let you know how it turns out

 

mark where the control arm bolts are in the K-member for easier alignment.

You will probably have to leave the rack with the motor or disconnect the power steering lines. If you take the rack out with the k member you would need to disconnect the steering shaft.

 

reinstall the rack&pinion bolts from the bottom for easier removal of the rack if it needs to ever be replaced.

 

When removing the bolts from the top does the engine get in the way? I have the motor out of mine at the moment and that’s the only thing I could see that might help.
