Default Ebrake hardware bolt won’t budge..

Removed the rear caliper and got the one screw out that holds ebrake hardware on. But the Alan head bolt won’t budge after sitting for two days with PB blaster on it.. this is the bolt below the spring. Only have 30,000 miles on the car surprised it won’t come out.

Hand torch or a heat gun will work fast.

Please add your car to your signature or tell is what kind of car this is.

Assuming you are talking about a 98-02 F-Body... It's not an Allen bolt. So, that's definitely probably part of your problem. (No amount of heat is going to help.) Putting the right tool on it will help a lot.

This thread shows the clean part: https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...s-e-brake.html

^ In order to get this out, you need an L-shaped screw driver. This thread, in post #4 shows the tools I use: https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...placement.html

With the mini ratcheting screw driver and pry bar (to put pressure on the bolt and force engagement of the bit), the part should come right out. This is just one of those jobs, where you MUST have the special tool.

It’s a 94 and maybe I’m calling it the wrong part? But the piston part that holds the bracket for the caliper there’s a Alan head on top of that which won’t come loose. Will post a picture. I removed the spring and latch. You can barley see the head of it in the picture.

Yes, that's different than I was thinking. I'm not familiar with the '94 mech.

I still say, heat the bitch and expand the metal. It does not have to be red hot, just 10 seconds with a small plumbers torch. Low flame on the nut side away caliper.

Definitely going to try that as soon as I can have one laying around somewhere. Atleast you see a picture as well to see what I mean. Surprise no one else has run into this problem or they just haven’t seen the post.

Even though I haven't done this before... That looks like it will take a wrench on the other side of the Allen bolt to hold the pin. If so, a wrench and then an Allen socket with a 12" (3/8" drive) breaker bar should help a lot. A regular Allen wrench isn't going to create any leverage - particularly for a rusty bolt.
