Default porsche brakes on an f-body?

ok, i tried posting this on another forum, but nobody had done this, so i hope somone knows a bit about this. my friend's dad has a 996 911 turbo. he has the stock calipers and rotors, and he will give them to me. i need toi know how to fit these on my car. is it better to redrill the rotors or oblong the existing holes. i know there was a company that made adapter brakets for this application, but i have been unable to contact them. how hard would it be to fab some brackets, if i get an experianced machine shop to help me. any help is appreciated.

p.s. yes, this is my first post. i have a 98 z28 w/ a K&N FIPK and a loudmouth. hope to be a frequent poster soon.

yes its been done plenty of times go to www.frrax.com for more info. I noticed how you have a Z28, thoes brakes will not fit under 16 inch rims. The only parts that are of value that are being given to you is the calipers, everything else you will have to purchase.

also with movit, you have to buy the whole kit, not just a single part.

Stopforce does this to the vettes. They use the Porsche rotor and have the vette hats put on them. They are awesome. The porsche rotor has the holes cst in them not drilled making them less prone to cracking.

After a few days I had small cracks coming from almost all the holes in my Porsche brakes.

that is an old wives tale ... completely false ...

And almost all the holes were covered with caked brake dust. plugged holes are great for ventilation ...

if its the 4 piston caliper you will have to use 17's if its the 6 piston caliper your gona have to go with 18's. Better be sure to get some good tires too cause thoes brakes are gona have a lot of bite.

Can you buy just the brackets from the link above (ProStop Performance) ?

A person over on the frrax site made brackets to replace a set that had bent. http://frrax.com/rrforum/index.php?a...=3282&hl=bent&

so it can be done.

To this point, almost everyone with the 996tt brakes has opted for Mov it or bought a bracket kit from a company called Prospeed - now defunct.

You still cant find the brackets? Have you got a hold of Steve at Prostop yet? He does make them. A phone call or E-mail and you are set.
