Default Which Rotors?

ok, I need new rotors because my stocks are warped and have already been turned. So Im thinkin of goin with a decent set of drilled slotted (don't know which brand yet) and probably pads.

What do you guys think of these?

I don't think I need calipers but will any pad for a 98+ camaro fit my stock calipers?

P.S. what is the average size of aftermarket rotors you guys use and what size are my stockies?

Err..

Not to wear this out, but this subject has already been prematurely worn like many of the brake parts around here have. If you are looking for those benefits that the E-bay ad claim, you'll be surely disappointed as that's been proven otherwise.

My advice, just go for some quality OE replacement blanks such as Brembo or Autozone Duralast. The stockers are around 12.2" (can't exactly recall) and are more than good enough for even some of the most aggressive AX apps. Don't be suckered into the slick marketing of fancy rotors.

If you plan to stick with your stock system, go for quality blank rotors, maybe slightly more aggressive brake pads, use a higher performance brake fluid, and get your calipers, brake lines, and system checked and rebuilt/replace whatever is needed.

If you desire more info on brake tech, there's a sticky at the top of the thread.

Best of luck.

Blanks or high quality slotted rotors.

Drilled does nothing but ruin your pads faster and greatly increase the chance of cracking.

I originally went with rototech, and they suck ***. ( warped my stock rotors withing the first 5k miles on the car. Bought new.) The slotted section was flush with the rest of the rotor in under 9months. I had bought brembo cross drilled and have had them for over 3yrs. Have well over 30 11.0x passes on them, and their doing great!

BTW..... the following link is the ultimate crossdrilled/slotted thread. Ever. Period. Too bad they deleted the Altimas.net thread...... it was like "56 pages of getting your *** handed to you." I'll see if I can dig up the original thread and post it. I just cant remember who it was that downloaded it to their own server just because it was the best thread ever.

Linky.... here.

You can get Brembo OEM blanks from TireRack or Sam Strano (both are sponsors), but they aren't coated or painted. Some people also use AutoZone's DuraLast rotors, but those aren't coated or painted either. You could always buy a set and paint the non-swept area (where the pads don't contact).
