Default Do I really need cross drilled and/or slotted rotors?

I'm toying with the idea on doing a C5 front brake conversion(I can get the brackets cheap). I'm sitting here thinking...won't the bigger rotors be enough of an improvement? I know it's really all about personal preference and opinion on brake feel but I don't autoX, I see the 1/4 mile every now and again.

I'm not hard on the car on the street.

Just looking for personal opinions and first hand experience of people doing the c5 upgrade with stock style rotors and then those that upgraded to "performance rotors".

I think I'll be fine with the stock style, Christ they're cheap enough lol.

Let me hear those experiences.

No. Do a quick search and you'll find out that they offer no benefits and can reduce your pad life.

Now, repeat after me....

Cross drilled brake rotors are not an upgrade.

Drilled brake rotors: The cheese graters of brake pads everywhere.

I'm thinking about cross drilling and slotting my flywheel in order to get better clutch bite.

If it works on brake rotors ....

It was just a suggestion. Your going with c5 instead of a Baer GT so it looked like you were trying to save money. If you want to spend some money then get the Baer GT kit. It comes with eradispeed rotors and will make you very happy. They are some of the best rotors on the market(my opinion) and look very nice as well. My first swich was to go to powerslot rotors and hawk hps pads. This combo worked very well and the powerslot rotors dont warp. I just sold them for $250, paid $500 new.

If you're not tracking the car or beating on it on the street, why even upgrade the brakes? LS1 cars already have bigger brakes than LT1's did, and if you put bigger ones on there you can't run 16 inch wheels if you want to.

I'm glad to get far enough to know he wasn't serious...
