Default SS/WS6 rims and 6-piston brakes

Does someone make a 6-piston brake set-up that will fit fine with the stock 17 inch WS6 and SS rims. Heard that wilwood's scrapes the inside but others say the fit fine? Also read that willwood doesn't have dust boots. Does Precision Brake sell a 6-piston set for stock rims and good streetability?

Try Precision Brakes. I have their C4HD rotor/6 piston Wilwood kit and it works with my factory 10 spoke SS wheels and no spacers. I can't swear the TA wheels will be the same, but it's as good of a place to start as any.

In any case, always try to get a template that will accurately measure the clearance before being stuck with improvising because it didn't end up fitting without a spacer.

Just filled out my paperwork today on the Wilwood 4pot kit from Precision Brake and it looks like I will need a small spacer as without it I only have about 1mm of clearance. I don't know about thier 6pot kits but from reading on thier site there is a 6pot caliper that is slightly smaller than the 4pot one that would prob also fit. In either case just call them up or email them, Victor is thier rep that has an account here maybe he will see this.

Agreed. I was really saying to call them, but they may have something for you. I wouldn't just blindly order a brake kit and suggest that you not try it either.

Are the wilwood calipers Precision uses have dust boots? Or are they the same ones as wilwood's kit with a different engraving. Read the big brakes FAQ (sticky thread), the wilwoods were described as being recomended for only race apllications due to the lack of dustboots.

They are the same, or the lug mount version of the same (depends on the kit). They do not have dust boots. So far, I've driven mine in snow, salt, ice, rain and had no issues. My car is a daily driver, even in Ohio weather. I put snow tires on it and I drive it all year. So far, I've had no problems.

FWIW I have a friend that just installed the off the shelf wilwood kit on his 30th aniv T/A with the stock wheels. They did not fit. After a spacer and longer studs, they did.

Which off the shelf Wilwood kit? From what I've seen in doing alot of reading about them there are several kits and combo's to choose from.

Wilwood builds a kit ("The Wilwood kit"), and several companies build kits using their calipers. So, I consider "the wilwood kit" to be from Wilwood and a "wilwood based kit" to be more like my kit from precision brakes.

Ah. Well I guess I shoulda said I did alot of reading on the Precision Brake kits. :-P They have many options and sent me a template to check the clearance for a kit I ordered. As posted I'll need a small spacer but not longer studs. They would be a good company to check with as they've been more than helpful to me.
