Default "Subframe connectors" for convertible?

I have an '02 SS convertible, and I really want
to just replace the factory tunnel brace with a
transverse subframe connector; don't need any
fore/aft as there's a frame channel already there
from the factory. But all the SFCs I see say
"not for convertible". I want to get rid of
the tunnel brace because it interferes with
the new Y-pipe. The stick tunnel brace uses
some wimpy-looking bosses but there are two
much more solid-looking, unused bosses under
there that look just right for a bolt-up bar.
Has anyone seen one? Maybe with a 1" drop to
clear the pipe?

For the subframes, Kenny Brown DD and BMR tubulars are the ONLY ones made to fit the convertible.

SLP Perforamnce parts is now selling a part to replace the A4 "X" brace that interferes with most exhaust setups.

SLP Cross Brace

BMR and other manufactures make tunnel braces that replace the flimsy stamped steel OEM piece.

I got yer SLP tunnel brace... right here!

Supposed to fit right up, it says.

"Now you can install any SLP y-pipe or header
and y-pipe combination! The part bolts on,
right out of the box, no holes to drill! "

Well, I'm here with greasy fingers and a foul
mood to tell you, it looks like a $129 hoax to
me. The spider part is just far enough off true
that the bolts won't go in, and the stamped piece
would bolt right up if it could pass directly
through the middle of the Y-pipe. The SLP Y-pipe.

The installation instructions are very helpful.
No need to waste time looking at pictures, 'cuz
there ain't none. I'll summarize the rest of
the instructions for you, so you all don't get
tired reading all 8 sentences.

A) wait five hours so you don't hurt your
pinkies on a hot exhaust. (I'm not kidding...)

1. Get the car in the air.
2. Remove the old part. They tell you how many
bolts. Duh. They don't tell you anything about
having to drop the Y-pipe. You will.
3. Attach the front to the trans support.
4. Install the stamped piece and the back
5. Get the car on the ground.

So I don't see the part about filing the holes
to fit, and I don't see the part about bending
your exhaust up or down 2" to clear the stamped
brace piece (like the ones the non-'verts have).

Other than that, I'm a happy freekin' camper.

Kenny Brown Double Diamond SFC's made a huge improvement in the way my 2002 convertible handles. Night and day. I already had a BMR (two point) shock tower brace on it when I installed the SFC's.
