Default KBDD SFC's or BMR SFC's?????

Anyone got any opinions on either of these, is the KBDD worth the price over the BMR's ????

I like my KBDD's, had them installed at KB's shop here in Indy. I'm not exactly an authority on the subject, but it seems to me that if you're looking for chassis rigidity, the more attachment points the SFC's have to the body, the better. Just my opinion.

KBDD... They make the car so much more solid & only weigh 32lbs. Worth it...

I love my welded SLP's. They hang down about 1 inch under the door sills though. (I'm lowered 1.25 to 1.5 inches and have no trouble with them.) Good luck.

KBDD's

My BMR weld-ins didn't line up right. The flat tongue that you weld to the frame didn't line up with the frame for ****.

I welded the hell out of them so they shouldn't give me a prob.

They also hang down and you can see them. They don't look bad at all.

If you get the KB"s you can add 4 extra attachment points to the factory pinch welds closest to each wheel well. KB doesn't put them on because F-body cars have so much variability in build specs. All you need is some 1 inch square galv. steel, cut pieces to fit the gap from SFC to chassis.Shortens the leaverage arm making them the stiffest SFC's. A 2pt leaverages over~5 feet. With this mod the KB leaverages over <1 foot.Physics 101= even a 2-3 inch diameter SFC flexed over 5 times the distance of a 1 inch one will be less rigid.

i put the BMR boxed on today. very big difference. no they were not a perfect fit, had to do some filling and bending to do.

however the end product is awesome. i love seeing them under the car. they look mean <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

car is much more solid and doesnt have that im going to fall apart feel going over some larger bumps

Yes, and you can make it really easy by getting the one inch galv. for them. Any BIG Home Depot store carries it in the hardware dept, the small stores sometimes don't carry it.On the ft. pass. side the KB welds to the left side of the sub frame and the added piece goes from the right side of the sub frame to the pinch weld on pass. side. The other three pieces go closest to each wheel well from the KB to the pinch weld.NO other SFC comes close to making the car as rigid as this mod of the KB does.

scot, I hosted pics for before about this mod, I think they are still on my website if you want to use them.

anyways, I know you have done some weight reduction to your car, I was just wondering what it weighs, and exactly what you did that changed its weight.

Miki,Feel free to post the pictures. They were from an intermediate stage in building the car. Might help to clearify. My car started as a Florida police car, cloth, stripper hardtop m6 with no cruise, power anything, alarm or keyless entry.NOTHING. I deleted the rear seats and belts, spare and jack.Fabricated a chrome moly roll cage[30 lbs.] and a full frame[46lbs.]with front triangulated and rear shock tower bracing. Reinforced the sub frames from the inside using Dynaplate [made by the Dynamat company]. Finished off the insides as a two seater with one piece of matching carpet.3289 lbs empty with < 1/8 tank of gas. Scot
