so would these be a good option on a c6 vette? Any new details, a cheaper great stopping brake kit would be awesome hopefully with some decent weight rotors.

It doesn't really help as the issue is the caliper to spindle distance. The 14" rotor is a bolt on, but a 13" needs a caliper with shorter mounting lugs.

Umm the SS rotors are 14". They are 14" up front and 14.4" in the rear.

I didn't know that, but it doesn't change anything. We already have a cheap 14" bolt on kit. What we don't have is a kit for the guys with smallish 17" rims. That's what we need and we're not going to get it with these Brembo calipers and the F-body spindles.

Since I doubt there is another spindle choice out there, we're going to have to find a cheap caliper with shorter mounting lugs. End of story.

oooh gotcha. Well I guess that is just another option for the 18in and above wheel guys.

We don't know that yet. Is this rotor going to be cheaper than the 14" vette? Same offset or different? Drilled or solid?

Now if the offset is the same, but it's a solid design and sells for under $90, then I would buy them over the vette rotors simply because I'm not into drilled rotors or spending excess money.

I'm sure someone will post up some specs once they get them.

Are you guys sure the calipers are exactly the same? Obviously they can't say CTS-V on them. So if these are powdercoated a nicer color than silver, then that would be a reason to choose them.

I am sure that they are the same. They will be silver also. I do not know the exact specs right now or the cost. However, the 320-v calipers are $80 for the fronts and $74 for the rear from GMpartsdirect. I would imagine that the Camaro ones would be similar.

It is a solid rotor but I don’t know what the offset is like. I will try and find out though today.

What calipers are those?
If you mean the CTS-V, you want the loaded ones which include the clips, pads and so forth. I think they are about $150 each.

Sorry I meant 320-V rotors not calipers.

BTW 320-V = 1st gen CTS-V. 320 is the chassis code.

OK, I gotcha.

Are there any threads on the new camaro (G8) brakes yet?

I have found someone locally that can make custom brake hoses for me, so how much longer does it need to be for use with cts-v calipers and c6 z06 rotors?

So I think I might be able to fit the CTS-V caliper/C6 Z06 rotor combo with my Ruff Racing 18" wheels. I may need to run a small spacer. So we need to have about 1" clearance from spoke to stock caliper correct?

Is there a stock replacement rear rotor to match the looks of the C6 Z06 rotor?

Yes.

On the rear, do you mean looks as in size or drilled pattern?

Not that I know of on size, unless a vette rotor will work.

On the hole pattern, you can probably find a similar looking rotor for the rear if you look around. There may even be some places that will drill them to your design.

Good luck fitting those CTS-V Calipers. I've read that Ruff wheels can barely fit stock calipers.

Don't know where you heard that but I have more room with these than I did with my stock WS6 wheels.

In post 289 someone said the BMW rotor is a perfect fit with exception of thickness being 36mm. The poster stated that 32mm is max. If that is the case has anyone considered just merely turning the rotors? A local parts store can turn them down for about 10 bucks a piece. I know that this I am just starting in this thread and don't mean to offend if i am stating something that has already been discussed.

That was me. Turning 4mm off a rotor gets you into dangerous territory. I would get a pad made with 4mm less compound on them before I took that much off a rotor.

Yes, it's already been discussed. Keep reading, you'll see it's too dangerous.

2mm on each side is about what's designed to wear off. A 36mm rotor machined down to 32mm is ready for the trash can.

I've read through the whole 38 pages of this thread, and maybe I missed it, but...

Does the 14" C6Z06 rotor and CTS-V Caliper fit on a 4th gen w/18" C6Z06 wheels with no other modifications?
