If you have a 305 you won't get there.

You won't make 400 RWHP out of an old school 350, you'll be lucky to get 1 to 1. You would have to turn it into a 406 and probably still won't make 400. Why are you so insistant on making 400? HP numbers don't mean anything, what it runs is what matters. It is what it is. If you continue to beat a dead horse no one will pay any attention to you.

What are the current mods on your motor? Are you running 13's right now?

you need the edelbrock setup.
on a base old school 350 you can push about 420 hp
one part number in jegs catalog.
then you can upgrade your tranny and get 4.11 rear end gears if you dont care about gas mileage

+1^^^^^ everyone else.. you wont make 400 with that motor.. id be suprised if you broke 300 honestly..

and numbers arent anything but something to brag about.. times are what matters..

you need to work on getting your 60ft. down.. get a nice converter and some gears... make sure you can hook it.. if i were you i would look into swapping in an lt1 or ls1 (of course this is the better choice).. i dont "THINK" it would be too hard..

what do those heads and stuff flow with that.. i would be hard pressed to say it would make any more than 350RWHP.. if that.

I used the visible and .501 lift cam with .292 duration from comp cams
and 1.6 roller rockers, electric fuel pump and only running alternator with march performance pulleys so almost no power loss through the pulley and no thats not a stock distributor and I also used 8.8 msd wires

"What would the 305 make? We had plenty of time for conjecture while the engine was being run for the cam break-in cycle. Even though the stock 305 had show better output than most of the detractors had anticipated, there was little confidence in the 305's potential. Jawboning in the cell predicted numbers in the low 300hp range. There were a few surprised expressions when the 305 cranked 367 hp at 6,000 rpm on the first pull. With some fine-tuning of the air/fuel ratio via a jet change to the Speed Demon carb, power inched up to 372 hp at 6,100 rpm. That's credible power for any street small-block; enough to make a Third Gen Camaro really scoot. Had we started with a higher compression hydraulic roller 305, as is typical of the later F-bodies, there likely would have been even a little more. The lesson here is that any engine can be made to perform with the right combination of parts, even those that the vast majority of people are reluctant to love."

kind of a broad statement to say "THEY dont know what their talking about"...

2300$ and 8.6... you could buy a stock ls1 for 1k and run faster than that.. he wants to be out of the 13s.. not barely breaking into it..

you ignored my question of what those heads in that package flowed... do you not know?
