My dad is interested in buying a new Z06, but doesn't want to buy it, then the next year, they have put a new motor or something in the Z06. It's had the SAME motor and stats since '05. Shouldn't they finally raise the hp and tq. after 5 years?

save your money by a c6 put some gas on it and whip that 60k car....no the z06 is great but the zr1 is taking it's place.i heard the z06 is going under that is why they came out with the grandsport to use up all the left over body parts.thats what a friend of mine at a dealer told me.

it has only been 4 years. 2006 C6 Z06. And why would Chevy fix something that aint broken? The z06 is a beast the way it is. If you want more then mod it yourself. The LS7 is designed to be moddified.

They basically did.. They gave you an option of the Zr1..
It happens.. Buy a C6Z and throw an exhaust/tune on it and don't worry about any more stock models beating you for the next 4 years or so..
If you have been in a C6Zo6, I don't think you would be worrying about this.. Also if he is going to keep it stock, he will e surpassed by more than a new Zo6.. If he is modding, no worries.

acctualy a ls3 has more potential compared to a ls7. cant do too much with it as it wont hold as much power. that is why they used the ls3 on the zr1. they are not gonna drop the z06 they are gonna drop the z51. a z06 has so much power but realy they cant up the horsepower on it cause then what would be the point of the zr1?

Like everthing, it will get old and outdated. Nothing is going to stay fresh forever. Anyway its a C6Z06, thats a lot of car already. I don't see it turning into LT1 status anytime soon.

? I dont know a whole lot about vett's, just aint my thing, but isn't the ls7 7L and the ls9 6? Im pretty sure they aren't in the same engine family, IE ls1 and ls6, ls2 and ls7, then the ls3 and ls9.

They're pretty different body parts. The GS replaces the Z51 option on the base coupe, and offers a factory widebody convertible package. Dry sump LS3 on the M6 model.
OP: I haven't heard of there being plans to replace the LS7 any time soon. There are basically four Vette models: Coupe, GS, Z06, ZR1. That gives plenty of options for a potential owner. If your dad has driven a Z06 and feel like it's too slow, I can understand the argument. If it's just about bragging rights, mod a Coupe or GS and call it a day.
Has he considered a Callaway?

but the sc's are sometimes rated in liters, though right?
I figure with higher compression in the cylinders, it is like cramming more air and fuel in than usual which makes more liters. The only reason you're getting extra power from the sc is because of extra fuel and air being forced into the cylinders.
A stroker kit does not make the block bigger, but it makes the strokes longer and I'd also say liters and ci's. With FI it seems logical to me to say the liters go up.
No matter how big a given foot is, no matter how big or small the shoe is, the foot will remain the same size no matter how you get it into the shoe. That's how I'm thinking of it.
