It seems to say towards the end that plates issued up to sept 1 must still be displayed in pair, only plates on or after sept 1 can only be displayed singularly. At least thats what i get outta that.

No front plates ticket is the dumbest ticket ever, I have had 2-3 tickets for it and used the same picture of my car with plates each time I've gone to court and had it dismissed. Just a waste of time.
So yeah it will be good to see them do away with the law.

Yeah, its in the house, its really a stupid law, but dont they use front plates to give out those running stop light tickets? Isnt that what they take a photo off? I think cars , regular cars that is, should come with two plates, I mean I'm not going to take the front plate of my Blazer or any thing. But people should have the option to have only one plate, other states do and most people arent goint to take their front plate off. But I wont get my hopes up, no I wont get my hopes up

OK so what's the deal with it? Did it really pass? I read one thread that says it didn't pass. I read one that says it did. I tried figuring out what the hell is going on at http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/cgi-b...03540&SORT=Asc but it's way too confusing for me.

The way it looks to me is that it passed, but it's not effective until November 1 this year. It is very hard to decipher a lot of the stuff on that website link.
I took my front plate off my windshield a month ago. It was actually an obstruction IMO and more of a danger in that respect than it not being on the windshield at all. I see AT LEAST one po-po car on the way to & from work every day, and so far they've left me alone.

It did not pass, the bill which it was one small part of was killed. There have been multiple threads about it, this is one of several and is outdated...

I don't understand why you get so many tickets for this. I have owned 3 different cars in the past 5 years, a LT1 TA, a LS1 TA, and now a 03 Cobra and none of them have had front plates. I have never received a ticket for no front plate, knock on wood. I have also lived in Jersey Village and now i live on 1960 by the mall which are both known for COP'S. I do hope they pass this no front plate thing. I was just wondering did you get pulled over for something else and then they noticed you have no front plate and then they gave you a ticket, or is that the reason they pulled you over to begin with?
