Does anybody ever go to Navasota Raceway anymore is it even still opened my dad and I were talking about it and he said a bunch of us ls1r's should go there and wax some piece of **** cars *** just wondering guys.

I would think a cool thing would be to go use an air strip one afternoon to do some racing. Since there isn't any tracks in the B/CS area.
I got a friend in FW that has an airstrip on his property and lets friends run there cars out there. It's pretty cool.

The owner Mickey Ellis ( mellis2235@aol.com ) just posted there this afternoon: "plans are in the works to reopen the track, but we have not set a date.stay tuned!" And back on April 26, 2005, he posted "THE TRACK WILL REOPEN!!!!", and on April 29: "it is me and the track will reopen. thank you for your support ,that is what we need right now!"
There was a post on their old message board back on August 4, 2004 about why it closed, from 'RAY':

Week before last navasota raceway owner mickey ellis announce he would close down the race track due to the insurance company failure to pay for the damage to the sound barrier wall. This week a new manager has been appointed to take over the operation and reopen the facility with new programs and has announced she will make much needed changes in the operation. Weather and poor management and bad track conditions led to many racers and spectators going to other tracks for there needs. Navasota has always been a family type track with good values and a fun place to go for an evening of excitement. We wish them luck on there new management and will be looking to see a successful venture in the near future
