whats it matter what the choises are if the choices we already have don't effect any part of the search anyway? when you go the classified section then click on either LS or non LS parts you still get the same results, when I clicked on the non ls parts I dont think theres a single thing on the first parge that is for a LT1 sbc genI or a bbc so how about you fix that first?

holy **** seriously? nobody gives a **** how the search works. you cant organize gold in a **** sandwhich dude. this **** is chaotic and unless someone enters their item to sale to work with your criteria this will never work. people want to sell **** here not hope they can have someone search for it. i'd have to imagine most people buy **** in the class section based off of impulse not because they really need it.

This is a long *** thread and I haven't read through it so I don't know if this has been answered yet or not but...

What purpose does the "marketplace search" have? I have 3 threads with nitrous parts in the classified section, yet typing "nitrous" into the search field, regardless of what categories are selected or not selected, returns zero results.

+1 vote for getting rid of this piece of **** new classified system.

Changing these options is the first step towards properly separating LS and non-LS items.

The searches don't currently work, because users can select both LS & Non-LS for their items when they create a new listing. So the vast majority of listings which have been created this far, have both selected, which is why the search results are so **** poor right now.

ok gotcha, the options you have are fine just ad V6 but something i noticed is you select from the "engine" list then the next thing it asks you is LS or non LS so why do we need both? . I also noticed today you need to select "part fits" but the only selection for 4th gen fbods is 93-02 and if you need to list anything for a camaro/firebird you need to select that but some parts don't swap between 93-97 and 98-02 so there needs to be a brake down there as well like a front fender from a 93 wont fit 98+ but yet you have to select the years 98+

hopefully this is a start. if you fix that engine deal where you can select multiple, lets try it maybe that was the whole problem all along besides the one item a thread thing

or you can just start a new section and we just start our classifieds all over again but leave the old one so its still there

Holy ****... that's genious!!! Dunno why We haven't mentioned that yet? That way IB can keep their POS marketplace BS and we can have classifieds that work. DO IT!!!

Probably not, but what could be a viable argument against it? I guess you could argue that the new forum could steer some people away from their "marketplace" (and by some, I mean 99%)

its ok they can still put there ebay ads on there, as long as it is just like the old classifieds I can deal with ebay. not like they make money from the search feature

Marketing 101.... if it works dont mess with it. If you change it and it no longer works, CHANGE IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Duh.

It would be worth it to wipe everything out and start over I think. If thats what it takes to rebuild it then go for it. This sucks. I need **** and cant find anything I need.

This is exactly the kind of info I need. I do not know all the specifics of the cars/yrs/models etc.

If you can give me a list of the breakdowns as you think they should be, i can implement them and things will begin to improve. I am certain of it.

The vehicle listings still SUCK.

We need a TRUE breakdown of the LS based cars. I looked at it yesterday and there are V6 cars, Mustangs and so on. Plus, search is PITIFUL. Trying to find an C5 Z06 is impossible because everything from 00-05 shows up. Even in sections you didnt search.

I haven't ignored anything. I've clearly stated, several times that we can not go back to the old system. That's a decision made over my head, and that's all there is to it.

The sooner you guys can come up with suggestions like above, the sooner this mess will begin to sort itself out.

The settings were initially created poorly, leading to the completely useless search results right now. If you would work with me, we can fix this in a moment's time, and things will improve.
