Default Built 2004 Subaru STI (600AWHP)

Hey guys! My name is Andrew and I have a been a Specialist member on NASIOC for a long time. I have built 3 Subarus now and this is my last big Subaru project and its now time for it to go. I was not always into imports...used to have a 99 LS1 auto formula. And now I want to go back to the "Darkside" lol. I am looking to sell this car outright or trade plus cash deal for a nice LS1. I do have a payoff and we would have to work out details...but it would be worth it for this car. Looking for LS1 WS6 mostly stock..exhaust and cam with tune would be perfect..... give me your thoughts.

(stock wheels)

This is my white 2004 Sti. It has been my pride and joy project for the last year and my second Subaru that I have owned. I previously owned an 03 wrx that I had up to 320whp before it finally spun a bearing. After that I knew I wanted to step up to the Sti because it was time for some serious power. So I bought this car...completly stock. My goal was to find a Sti with a lot of miles because I knew I was going to replace the motor but the trick was to find one that was in great shaped inside and out as well...
Long story short...I bought this one. Within the week I had a new set of Tenzo DC-6 wheels and nexen tires along with some window tint. From there I went crazy......

Tint
Tenzo DC-6 wheels
nexen tires
blacked out headlights
dash bezel with backlighted boost and oil press gauges

Stage 5 axis motor built by the one and only RON
New Sti block
Cosworth pisons
pauter rods
Kelford 280 cams
3angle valve job
springs/retainers--8500rpms
ARP headstuds
And everything else Ron does to his motors. Everything but ported head

URGT35R turbo w/1.06 hotside
UR externally gated uppipe
44mm Tial EWG
dumptube
UR rotated downpipe
Apexi catback
UR filter and intake tube
UR FMIC kit
Tial 50mm BOV

Perrin 850cc injectors
Walbro 255fp

B&M shifter kit with bushings
AP shiftknob

6-speed of course
Act stage 4 clutch
Act lightweight flywheel

Hydra ECU

THIS IS NOT A GARAGE PROJECT!

Like I said above...the motor was built by Ron and the setup was assembled by him as well. It was then put on his dyno and tuned for break in by Jorge from P&L. It was low boost, 91 oct, APv2, and a rev limit of 4200rpm and still made a little over 300whp!!! I Then bought the Hydra because I wanted to make the max power I can with this setup. Jorge says with the larger injectors and Hydra...breaking the 600whp mark will not be a problem.

Couple small less than quater size dents on hood, few small chips in red on wheels, and a scuff were penny size black shows on rear bumper from cart. Also needs brake pads. ONLY PROBLEMS. VERY VERY CLEAN!!

I dont want to sell the car but I had a baby during the project and have sadly had many issues including a big job change that will take time to adjust to and a seperation from my ex wich also brings $ costing events such as moving into my own place and supporting my child. The point of this car was to have the ability to have two maps or tunes on the car. A basic daily driven, reliable idle, easy nice riding, tune for pumpgas. It would still make nearly 500whp but drive like factory. And then also a map that was aggresive for racegas and ready to go real fast....600+whp. And thats exactly what the car will do when yhou leave the shop you get it tuned from.

The car now has a hair over 4000 miles on the new setup. Most of them are from Jorges break in tune from P&L in Chicago at wich the car was set to rev no more than 4200rpm. It now has a tune of around 16.5psi from Shrek that was on Grahms daily driver wich is nearly an identical setup. It was riched up a bit and installed on the hydra standalone ECU I bought wich is in the car now. It runs very well for a kind of off the shelf style map and only goes to around 7k at this point. Still pulls very hard and is begging for a tune to unleash the beast!!

I have invested over 20k in this car from parts, labor, tunes, ecus, time, ect. Two of the biggest guys in building and tuning have created this car and can be a reffernce if needed.. Please contact for info. PHONE ONLY!!! 1-417-825-9921 Andrew SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY

Here is a website where you can look up the cost of the kits I bought. Look at the 35R 1.06 turbo kit, fuel sytem kit, and intercooler kit. www.ultimate-racing.com

Here is a vid of the car running.

Here is a pic of how clean the car is..... took this rite before I blacked the headlights and windows and put on the wheels, and sent it to ST.Louis for the build.

Been following your thread on NASIOC, showed it to several people I thought would be interested...everyboy is broke! Sounds like you have lots of car for what you are asking. Is it still on the "break-in tune?"

Nice car and good luck with sale.

And yes, they will and should move this to the non-LSX for sale forum.

Haha. Ya it does seem that everybody is broke these days. I would have done anything to find a deal like this when I bought mine. It's crazyness that the car is still even around for sale. I had it sold several times but the bank part of it is always the issue. They only want to loan book on it and people dont seem to ever have the fund to pay the differnce.

I know I am ready to go back to LS1's. Just look at the prices on the stuff. Think of what kind of f-body I would have for that kind of money. Hope sombody is willing to buy or trade. ANd yes move it you see fit. thanks

You know...
These STIs are going to continue to stay at their current value with the flop of the new POS.
Why not save up some dough, keep the STI, and buy an LS1. It's not like they're expensive
I'd gladly take this fine auto off your hands, but I'm more a Mitsubishi person myself.

Good luck and free bump for a well built machine...

^ Well said my friend. I bout wanted to puke when I seen what Subaru is so sadly claiming as their new STI. 2004 is by far the best year IMO and I share that with many others. It was the first new body style and first year it was sold in the US. Tends to be the best pick for a build as well.

I would love to keep it but can't afford two animals haha. Thanks for the bump and comments.
