Sounds like you have some money to play with. Do your self a favor and narrow your 9" and get some wheels that fit accordingly. my .02

if i narrowed my rear end do u know roughly what that would cost and how much i would have to narrow it ? i dont have a ton of money i really need wider rims in rear and tires to hold the hp i have but i would like to stick with 17 inch rims or no bigger than 18 inch i have heard of people narrowinmg the rear end but normally they have it done when they buy it as mine is in the car ..it is still relatively new though

I have a Strange 12 bolt......I'm looking through some old notes from about 1 year ago when I called them to take 3" off each end of my rear. They charge $600, and that includes brand new axles fit to the new rear end size.

Look up "GORACE" on here....he did it. He bought some Boze deep dish rims to fit, his car looks awesome with those rims.

So are you going to go with 10.5 or 11? Also what tire do you plan on running?

Yes it should.... Toyo and other 315 brands fit fine and they are the wider 315's. When a wheel is widened i believe the extending goes in and not out. So you will need a spacer. No you dont have to weld it to the rim unless you have stupid crazy numbers.

I have 11" wide 2000 WS.6 wheels, with Nitto NT555s in 315/35-17.

I dont make 600 hp, but I am running a lug centric 1" adapter, with some BFH mods, and rolled fenders. Been contemplating just cutting out the bump stop mount all together, since I dont even have the stops in the car any more.

I know the fenders are a little bigger on the Trans Am, but same basic concept. For piece of mind, I would run some ARP wheel studs in the adapter, and even in the axles if you didnt get upgraded studs with your 9"

Heres a shot from behind:

not sure why narrowing your rear end was even mentioned in this thread, that would make your problem even worse. To keep your tire from rubbing the inside of your rear fender you actually would need to lengthen your axle if you didnt run a spacer.
