Instead of a couple of static renderings, we’re treated to an entire, detailed video of the Hypervette in multiple colors.

Widebody C8 Corvette renderings are nothing new, of course, as every digital artist worth their salt has drawn up their own interpretation of what such a thing might look like. The results of those ideas are quite mixed, however, with some looking rather nice and others, well, they’re just old-fashioned eyesores. But the artist Hycade, who came up with this widebody C8 – which he calls the Hypervette – did a pretty masterful job at reinventing the wheel.

What’s more, Hycade went to the trouble of creating an entire video showcasing his work, not just one or a few static renderings of the vehicle for social media. It’s a truly cinematic affair as well, with various angles, lighting conditions, and exterior colors shown off for good measure, and it’s enough to sell us on the idea. It’s a truly impressive effort, the kind that takes real talent to pull off.

As for the design of the widebody C8, well, that’s noteworthy as well. The additional bodywork here takes the C8 to the next level, visually speaking, making it look even more like an exotic car than it already does. The ultra-wide bodywork is complemented by a giant multi-level rear wing, rearranged exhaust tips, a large rear diffuser, and a completely new front fascia and hood, both equipped with huge air ducts.

Once we move past the all-black version of the Hypervette, we see a white one with even more interesting details, including some red striping that further accentuates the car’s new lines, which includes a massive Stingray that connects the rear wing to the roof. It’s located above a panel covering the glass sitting over the engine bay, which conceals that glorious-looking LT2 powerplant, unfortunately.

Finally, we’re shown a blue example of the widebody C8 with white accents and wheels, which rounds out the showcase, as well as another black car with red striping. Altogether, the video gives us a great look at this theoretical body kit, more so than most of the renderings we come across these days. Couple that with a solid design, and it’s clear that Hycade is a bit more talented than most.
