Hennessey Builds Fastest Venom GT to Date
While we wait for Hennessey’s next version of the Venom GT, the Venom FT, Hennessey, just in time for SEMA has debuted a 1,451 horsepower iteration of the previous Venom GT.
According to Hennessey, the new 2016 Venom GT uses the same twin-turbocharged, 7.0-liter V8 out of the original Venom GT, but with an added 207 horsepower more than the outgoing model.
What this means for the hypercar is that it can hit 60 miles per hour in just 2.4 seconds. 100 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds, and possibly a top speed of 280 miles per hour. Those performance figures give way to what could very well be the fastest production car on the planet, beating out the Bugatti Veyron, and all three hybrid hypercars.
According to John Hennessey, “Being the fastest matters. We are intent on keeping the Venom as the fastest, best performing and most exciting hypercar on the road.” And that’s what this car aims to be. We can’t wait to see what’s next.
