As the yearly tradition plays out, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway along with Chevrolet presented a total of 33, 2016 Chevy Camaro SS convertibles on the iconic brick yard.

These Camaros are known as “festival” cars, referring to the month long series of events that takes place in May across the city of Indianapolis, in honor of the greatest spectacle in racing—the Indianapolis 500 mile race, which is celebrating its 100th running this year.

Taking place on Memorial weekend, the Indy 500 is one of the most grueling races in the world, and certainly one of the fastest. The Chevy Camaros are given to key executives or “directors” of various organizations, who support May’s 500 Festival.

This year’s 500 Festival cars are based off the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible and are powered by the LT1 6.2L V-8, which offers 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque – making it the most powerful Camaro SS ever. Not to mention the snazzy livery.
