Villain 1969 Camaro build for SEMA 2019 with custom supercharged LS3 swap

Camaro gets full restomod treatment and makes 890 horsepower with a supercharged LS3 and a manual transmission.

The SEMA Show has a remarkable way of bringing out the absolute best in people’s abilities to build a car. There is nothing short of amazing at every turn. Even though SEMA 2019 has come and gone, this Camaro is still fresh in our minds. It’s super cool to see the behind the scenes of this insane build.

Bent Metal Customs (BMC) built this remarkable restomod 1969 Camaro for SEMA 2019. It has an extensive mod list from an LS3 with a Whipple supercharger and a manual transmission to a nine-inch rear end swap. It makes an astonishing 890 crank horsepower and 797 torque at the crank. The extensive build history is all over their Instagram page so that you can see every step of the build from start to finish.

Seeing the Camaro body off its frame really reflects the amount of work that went into this mind-blowing build. Many of the body panels, including the fenders and hood, bumpers, and lips are replaced with carbon fiber units from Anvil Auto. No bolt was left alone in terms of this car.

When they initially got the car, it was already a project. However, the scale was not nearly as epic as these guys made it. It featured a built 327 cubic-inch small block Chevy.  Obviously, this wasn’t going to be enough for the BMC guys.

Enter the new powerplant. BMC went with a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger-fed LS3. As a result, it’s now pumping 890 horsepower through its Bowler Transmissions built Tremec T-56 magnum, ensuring the power would safely make its way to the GearFX nine-inch rear end.

Putting that power down is a staggered set of Forgeline CV3C wheels in black chrome. 19 inch up front and 20 inch in the rear, all wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888 tires, which provide a considerable amount of traction. With this kind of power, you’ll undoubtedly find you need the grip, as well.

The original interior is entirely a thing of the past. BMC installed a remarkable custom interior consisting of tan leather with Alcantara interior. The door kick panels are carbon fiber, and the high-end materials line every bit of the interior. The bolstering on the Procar seats provides a perfect balance of comfort and performance-ready seating positions.

Additionally, the interior features a modern double-DIN touchscreen stereo unit and a modern push-to-start ignition. It also has a digital display for all the necessary gauges. Remarkably, it even has Bluetooth controlled air-conditioning. It truly is a modern interior for an iconic classic car.

Overall, the guys at BMC did a fantastic job with this build. It is certainly difficult to put into words the number of details that went into this car. However, taking a look at the build photos certainly puts the massive effort in perspective. That being said, you should definitely check out their Instagram page to see the full behind the scenes story on this build, as well as the other awesome projects they have.

Also, it’s worth a quick mention that this car is now for sale to the tune of $274,995. While that is a monumental number, we think someone will likely pay close to asking for this fantastic Camaro.
