Tarantino’s famous red ’64 Malibu from Pulp Fiction was stolen right after production wrapped. Apparently the thieves duplicated the VIN from another Malibu and used that to register the car. When the second Malibu came under scrutiny for a possible crime, the cops noticed the duplication and tracked down Tarantino’s car in Oakland, California. Its present owner is not under suspicion and considered to be a victim of fraud. No word if and when Tarantino will get his car back. NPR via Autoblog
