Yenko’s 1,000 HP Camaro SS is Available Straight from Dealership
Yenko offers Bugatti Veyron power levels for the Camaro SS 1LE — for $66,995.
It wasn’t that long ago when four-digit power figures were something reserved for all-out drag cars and multi-million dollar Bugattis. Now, everyone and their mother daily drives a nine-second, 1,000 horsepower street car. Well, not really, but it is amazing to see how accessible and easily managed horsepower has become.
To prove this point, esteemed tuning firm Yenko has returned, this time with the revised 2019 Camaro. Built by Specialty Vehicle Engineering, the Yenko Camaro is available in Stage I and Stage II variants. A Stage I Yenko Camaro features 835 horsepower, and the Stage II will produce 1,000 horsepower.
No matter which Yenko you want, they all start out with the same basic car: the Camaro SS 1LE. Yenko chose the 1LE because it offers a great basis for a performance-car platform. The brakes are bigger, the chassis is well-sorted, and the suspension is excellent — all the better to control up to 1,000 raging horses.

From there, SVE pulls out the stock LT1 engine and replaces it with a built 416 cubic-inch LT1, which includes a forged crank, H-beam rods, forged pistons and upgraded, high-flow heads. From there, a 2.9-liter supercharger is bolted atop the engine. That’s good for the 835 horsepower that the Stage I offers. From there, a Stage II build gets custom headers, and upgraded exhaust, and a recalibrated tune to net the 1,000 horsepower figure. From there, a stack of aesthetic upgrades, such as the wheel and tire package, colors, stripes and the like are all available extras.
The full-bore Stage II Yenko Camaro package costs $66,995, which does not include the $44,995 for the Camaro SS 1LE. This brings the total up to $111,990, which is a lot. However, it’s an absolute bargain compared to a Bugatti. These vehicles can be ordered directly through Yenko-certified Chevrolet dealerships. Better act fast if you want one because there were only 25 Stage I and 25 Stage II Yenko Camaros built, and the cars are numbered.
