Vinyl Wrap Door Panels

Has anyone tried to use Vinyl wrap on their Cracked Door Panels? Tried searching, but yet to find anyone. Curious if it would hold up and if it would be hotter then the plastic. Other wise I am thinking of sanding them down smooth and painting, again looking for thoughts of comfort. I may change the color, but I doubt it, probably staying with the black.

I have seen someone put vinyl over the cracked dashboard, it turned out nice.

Thoughts?

Yes I have read and have the Magazine for the Crack panels. Lets say, one side I did good on, the other, my 70+yo father wanted to help. Hence Why I am now looking and wrapping. Also, My daughter is heading to Med School, she loves her Firebird. Figure a leather wrap in her vert would give her a more Professional look.
