It doesn't appear to be "almost in place" in the picture.Get the trans in place and see where it ends up. I typically bend them slightly down and away from center with one hand once they are installed. You will need to use a funnel to fill the trans. Hopefully that isn't too difficult for you.

I will try to use a funnel and see if that is too difficult for me...

Great news! The 4l80 e swap is now a plug in play for factory auto cars! Alvin, from pcm for less, has made a harness to plug it into your factory harness on the auto cars. For the first time in 3 years, my stock tcm is controlling my 4l80 in my 2005 gto. My cruise control works, I have no transmission codes, and my gear range selector on the dash works. The electronics for the swap couldn't be any easier now for the automatic cars. http://www.pcmforless.com/index.php?...per&Itemid=384

On the first page someone stated this
[QUOTE]97+ 4l80e transmission. The older ones will work but may have to be modified. QUOTE]
What needs to be modded on the early units? I have an 02 ECU and I can't get my early model 4L80E to work, and it worked find with my TCI box.

Mainly just looking at a mild cam and heads with the normal bolt ons. Nothing crazy but I don't want to have to worry about my trans and want to put my money where it will give the best return. I'm thinking why spend 1600 bucks on a built 4760E if I can spend that or a little more on a 4L80E - I'm not educated enough on this topic to make a good decision at this time though.
