I bought these band clamps a year or so ago just in case I had to remove the old four speed I could cut the exhaust and move it out of the way. I almost forgot I had them and was going to buy a set of Flowmaster ball flanges. These band clamps are made of stainless and built heavy. I know they use these from the factory on some diesels so it should be ok for my application.

Gotta love the wifey! Her and temperature control. I sweat and she freezes, I freeze and she is sweating??? I wish I could turn the key! I did make up the numbers 5 and 7 plug wires tonight. Hooked up my hydrualic lines to the slave and thats all she wrote. Gonna drop her tomorrow after I clean up the garage again for about the 100th time. Its an absolute mess! Taking a half day off of work to get some stuff done. I gotta get this thing running, BMF is catching me fast. I dont care to be first but damn sure dont want to be last! I need a few items like oxygen sensors, alternator, belt, lower radiator hose, finish mounting the radiator and fans, redo some wiring on the harness, wire in the relays and hots, temporarily mount the PCM, start on the gas tank, buy oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, air filter and piping, and whatever else comes along.

Lol, that's what it is with my girlfriend. She wants me to have A/C in my 89 when I swap a LQ4/T-56 in after basic.

Wow...great writeup, pictures, documentation, technique and links to other member builds.
Thank you for putting the time into this thread!
I am in the planning stages of a carbed LS6 in a 68 camaro.
Devil is in the details with these projects...This material will be invaluable.

Thanks! I try to help anyone I can. I looked for answers to certain concerns before I started this project and found most of what I was looking for but sometimes people skip over certain details that would make life easier. I catch myself doing the same thing at times when posting to my thread. Most of what I post may be excessive but if it helps just one person than it was worth the time to write it. Are you going to start a thread on your swap? I would recommend it. You would be surprised at the help I have received from day one. You just cant call up someone to find the answers or have someone make suggestions. LS1Tech is prolly the best tool I use. Good luck on your build and I look forward to checking in on your swap. Send me a link once you get started.
And as always, the more pictures the better!
I will definitely put up a build thread once I get started, which will be later this year.
I have a few things to take care of. The motor I intend to use is still in service...Plan is to free that up with something a bit more durable, then drop 'er in...
This site has always been a great resource.
Thank you for the kind wishes. Best of luck on the rest of your endeavor as well!
Your 69 is gonna be an animal once it is done!

I'm doing the air for me, I hate FL and I hate the humidity, I don't really mind driving with the windows open, but I hate driving the Nova, for instance taking a shower, driving to work, and being soaking wet with sweat by the time I get there!!!
Everything looks great,
and for the record, I'll be last! not worried, I have the nova to drive, This is my 3rd 68, I had 3 by the time I was 19, and I'll be driving it soon enough, maybe,
