I realize you are running the blazer so it has the lifted mm brackets but how much height did you have to cut out of the top of the crossmember? Where did the drain plug land in relation to the crossmember ?I have an ls2 pan for my noma but I am waiting on it to warm up some more and for the last of the part.

I had to cut a lot out of the crossmember. The back is about 1/2" tall. The circled portion is the general area where I had to clearance for the drain plug. I did not cut and weld a section in I just heated and beat the frame in (already had motor in )

Also I have a 5.3L engine in there and I drive it every chance I get. Have over 5000 miles since swap.

I also had to do some clearancing on the crossmember to allow the drain plug to be removed and reinstalled. sorry no pic on that. I used the Trans-Dapt mounts and cut the ear off that would pick the motor up. So you might not have to cut the crossmember out. However you will have to cut the A/C box for the last coil because my rear most coil hit with my engine mounted as low as it would go. The brake booster was in the way of the rear most coil on the drivers side too. What I did was mount the coil higher on the bracket and make an MSD wire for the rear two cylinders.
about what was the height and width that you cut it out.

how much room is between the pan and the crossmember

Uh what? Ok in between the frame rails (drivers side to passengers side) was approx 11" and from front end to rear end was the width of the crossmember. The pan actually sits kinda behind the front of the crossmember.

After boxing the crossmember back in I have about a half inch.

S10-Den...Truck is running like a raped ape. Right now I have run into an ignition problem though...my driver side rear plug wire was apparently rubbing the steering shaft...soooo now i have a miss on number 8. I am going to work on making a new wire up tonight or tomorrow...then back on the fun times again. Havent really gotten to drive it around much...ya know family issues and such. But this summer it will get alot of cruising....next I am working on the A/C...this damn florida heat is already sucking...so I need A/C. But I am loving it thus far.

OO and by the way...sorry i just remembered i think i was supposed to take some pics for you of my fueal system and evap...I promise ill get those this weekend...sorry man..forgetful me.

The front of the crossmember is 3 1/4 inches the rear of the crossmember is 2 3/4 inches tall. Both measured from the bottom of the crossmember to the top of where its cut and filled back in.

Great thanks a bunch. Have you notched the frame for the compressor yet.
If so would you mind me hitting you up for rough measurements.

Dammit man! Yeah I have notched the frame for the compressor (Mine runs and drives ). I cut just behind the idler arm and straight across the top to just after the frame parting line. Then about 11 inches back to just under the front bushing on the controll arm. For the bottom I just followed the bend line (where the bottom of the frame bends to go up on the inside). I just dont have the a/c hooked up because I cant find anyone to custom make me some a/c hoses. The pic is a good shot on the front.

1Bd Jimmy, If you need some lines made there is an autoparts store here that makes custom lines and fittings. I have used their hose's on my swaps for the last ten years and have had no problems. Home for me is about an hour south of you on 181 in Falls City. If not I know carlisle auto air in san antonio will make lines. Or if you want and have some time in the next week and you are driving the truck shoot me a call and we can meet up at my dads shop one evening this week after work, build your lines and charge your a/c and get you some cold air in your ride. If interested drop me a line and I'll pm you my phone number later, I'd like to too how it all came together in person it looks super clean in pictures. chris.

When I first completed the swap I didnt notice any different handling. However now after 5000 miles it feels loose in the front. I am thinking the front suspension needs to be rebuilt though (almost 7 yrs old and never been touched).

I have rebraced the hole in the crossmember. I havent gotten a chance to rebrace the hole in the frame rail for the compressor. The a/c hoses come beneath the compressor and are too close to the frame for me to rebrace. Hopefully I can meet up with 01WS6/tamu in a couple of weeks and get the a/c lines routed the way I want them.

I dont think that it handles like crap. I drive it just like I did with the 4.3L; it just feels like I need to rebuild the front end/ have an alignment performed.

Yeah. First: I got a box and cut it to match from the rear of the crossmember to the contours on the front of the crossmember. And cut out a piece of 1/4" metal to fit the template and welded it in. Second: I cut out another piece to go from the top at the front of the crossmember to the plate already welded in. Third: I cut out a couple more pieces to go on the sides of those.

The ls1 and other gm motors has this to let air out of the system,if you dont have this hooked up,DAMAGE could and probably will happen to the heads....just read through all the s10 swap info, thats the only way you will learn about the lsx swaps,I read, read some more, and still read about them
