s10 ls1ers
When converting over to the ls2 pan do I leave the 5.3 truck windage tray or do I disgard it and put nothing back. Or, is there also an ls2 windage tray that I have to order. I ordered the pan, op pickup, dipstick, indicator. Also does anyone know what type of adaptor I need to go from the large gm thread on the ls style oilpressure sending unit to the smaller thread that is coming off of my v6. Or can the ls sending unit run my factory v6 op gauge and read accurate.

The LS1 sending unit will not work on the S10 gauge...what alot of us do...to make it easy...is simply take the LS1 sending unit out....break off the bottom metal part...that has the threads in it....and then thread the INSIDE of it to fit the S10 sending unit...then just screw it back in. Works wonders. Somewhere on here the user Brains posted a pic of it...I bought mine from him..but have since made my own also.
S-10 Den: New to site and alot of good info. I'm runnin a 98 Blazer w/ LT4 & T56. You were asking about the slave. I assume you are using the pull style clutch. You can use the slave from a camero or firebird but not the corvette. The S10 master does not have enough reservor to operate the larger vette slave.
I so badly want to start my swap, but I'm still waiting to get more of the parts I need. I'm also waiting for warmer weather so I can ride my motorcycle for the few months my truck is out. I've got so much more big stuff to get though. Arrrrggghhhh

I ordered and have a vet pan I just took out of the box and it looks to be the easiest to work around in the s series chasis. I built my own harness using an 02 f-body and an oem 4cyl 96 engine harness that I stripped all of the four banger engine management stuff out of then laid the ls1 harness into it and tied everything in and lengthened where I needed to. But I also have alldata at the shop and have done this multiple times so it is not my first rodeo which makes things much easier on top of having all of the right information and equipment. If you are patient and have accurate info you can do it. My opinion is if you have nuts enough to start a swap of this caliber then the harness is the least of your troubles.

My suggestion is if you have no idea about wiring, fueling,or swaps,I dont think a LSX swap should be your first one.Hell, I have seen the standard small block swaps never get completed befor much less an lsx swap.Just my opinion.

i know your not trying to talk me out of my swap cause it won't work. granted i might not know everything but i will learn along the way.
I already like the attitude BluLS1. When I started my swap...I was thinking..maybe its too much...but then pretty much said the same thing. If I cant do it...I will figure out how to do it. And really...its not too hard...just time consuming. And money hungry. But if you can turn a wrench...and have basic skills....you can do it. Just if you need a welder, get someone who can help weld....or same with the electronics. Just ask if you have any questions.
