Looking good Rollinphat4me....

Glad I won't be the only crazy person who wanted a 4wd Blazer (or in my case a Bravada) with an LS1.

Are those Turbotime's engine mounts? They don't look like the set I got from them and used....Look shorter and probably have more offset to the right....I didn't have to clearance the shock tower at all....

You can convert yours to the 97 up abs unit by simply changing the front brake lines and splicing the connector on the harness and it will do away with the pcm controlled abs. The newer ones are a standalone system with the controller integrated into the abs unit

Mine was 96 4x4. Now 4x2 with 2005 5.3 and new 4l60e. Took all the front differential out and left outer half of shaft to hold front bearings together. I used the Underhood fuse box with stock harness. Had to do a little bit of wiring.Used AllDataDIY.com for wiring schematics, pinouts.... No 4.3 computer. Everything but Tach and AC working now.

thanks guys,
good info on updating my abs to newer style,i think i am gonna go that route but im gonna wait till after im up and running, ill just have reg brakes for now.
im trying hard to get it going soooon.its very time consuming
justdreamin,im glad im not the only one whos got the 4x4-4door love lol alot of people think im nuts for building a 4x4 that does not go offroading and they tell me my truck is too low....that a 4x4 should go up, not down, but for some strange reason my ride has really grown on me and i like life on the low side,i also have to keep it 4x4 due to where i live,4x4 is a must.and no those are not turbo times motor mounts,i made these myself, but he is doing my oil pan,im sending it back to him so he can reweld it how it needs to be for a second gen 4x4.so he will be able to offer them as a already built pan ready to bolt on,i guess that my motor coming in and out 18 times to be exact, will help others conversions a little easier, and hey man thats what this forum is all about!!!!well as soon as i get my pan back i will post some pics,

I think your motor mounts puts the engine lower in the chassis than the turbotime ones.... Because the front ends are very similar. I ended up building my pan, because Turbotime's weren't available yet....

I'd bet mine was in and out about the same number of times...Just lost count after about 6....Was really annoying when I discovered that I couldn't put the trans & transfer case in place with the engine in.....That's when the body crossmember directly ahead of the torsion bar crossmember got a removeable center section....If you're running a 4L60E or 700R4, that shouldn't be a problem, but I decided to step up to an 80E, since I'd already busted a 60E behind the stone stock V6.....Not exactly confidence inspiring to break the rear planetary (hard parts failure) with 195hp....

Yeah, I'm with you about 4x4's getting lower....And hassled about 4 doors...For me its all about practicallity. I've got a 2yr old daughter and a boy or girl due in February (don't know which yet), so easy access to car seats in the back is critical. If GM had built 4 door Typhoons, I might have thought seriously about it, but I much prefer the 2nd Gen body style anyway.

4 doors also allow you to get more space between your front and back hangglider racks, better support! Plus a new washing machine and large screen lcd tv fit in better.

Yeah I wish I had gone ahead and went the four door route. But I have always wanted a stepside s10. Thus far it's just me and my daughter since I am divorced so it's no big deal. May have to do something different in the future but for now it's mine and fine.

They're great two. I like the stepside body style. I just happened to see an add in local paper for my Blazer with blown engine. Thats code for cheap place to put my new 5.3. And it was in excellent shape otherwise. Just wish it had been 2 wheel drive though.

Depends on what year your truck is. If it's 94'up it's easier I think to pull the dash so you have full access to the pedals. This is my opinion as I have had a bunch of dashes out so I can pull them fairly quickly.

I changed my gas pedal to a custom made electronic throttle pedal from a Silverado. I like laying upside down with my feet in the air though so it was easy for me. Just kidding. Yeh, it would be easy with no dash in the way.

How do those of you with ETC equipped trucks like it. My mom had a denali and it was real noticable at times, you were gettin on it and it was not going. My aunt has an 01 5.3 suburban and it is absolutely terrible you can get in it almost 3/4 throttle around town before it makes up it's mind WTF it want to do. I see a lot of people doing it but was just curious as to your feelings on it. I was going to go that route and finally got all of the cables to work on mine.

I guess a lot of it is eliminated with the custom tunes we have to do. Both of theirs were stone stock.
