So are there any LS headers to fit the G body without mods? Or will all require some cutting/hammering/welding? I thought I read somewhere the Pacesetter ones worked without mods with the TransDapt 1" setback mounts.

I tried the factory corvette headers by the way, they hit the crossmember, the outlet is too far towards the front of the car.
I haven't gotten to fit the headers into the car yet, as I've been trying to get as much stuff on the car as possible so I can have some space when I push the car out to do my dad's 403 swap in his 87' 442. They do look really nice, however I'll have to figure something out with the O2 sensors as the headers don't have bungs in them.

If the headers don't fit the way I want them to, then I'll end up getting a set of adapter plates off of eBay and then trying those. I WILL NOT modify these headers in anyway though.

I don't know how many times I've told myself the next G-body swap will go so smooth it's rediculous, with all the trial and error fitting.

I do know that with the BRP mounts, the LS1 car coils fit pretty nicely without needing to notch the AC box, at most you will have to put a bolt in the most rearward hole instead of the stud on the valve cover.

The BRP headers fit perfectly with the BRP motor mounts

Default cheap headers

Rich guys disregard......If you want to save some money get the Pacesetter painted headers for 2000 Camaro/Firebird. The number is 70-2256 and I found 'em for a little less than $252 total to my door.

I put 'em on tonight (87 Regal). The pass one is going to need a little adjustment with my framing hammer, but they are good to go!

Just got done installing my BRPs this evening. It seems the only way to install them is to remove the slip on collector. It's just a pain in the *** to get off and back on. The driver fits really nice, however the passenger still touches the frame in one spot, and I'm also having trouble getting the collector on.

I think ill remove the passenger one completely and then start all over with the install. Anyone else with these headers have this issue?

Well after taking a nice long break, I figured it out. Just took patience thats all!

Is there anyone else using the CTS-V pan with the BRP mounts? I'm not sure if I should replace the mounts with some adapter plates, or just get the Muscle Car oil pan. The pan I beleive touches the crossmember, with everything bolted up. If it doesn't touch now, then it will when driving, without a doubt.

This is the perfect setup for the lsx swap into a gbody, all you need is the muscle car pan and you're set. http://www.spohn.net/shop/1978-1987-...Clamshell.html

guys I need your help! I don't know anything about the fuel feed for the LS1. my plan was to run a carb with the LS1/T56 in my 79 Monte.
now I'm thinking to EFI the LS1 with a standalone wiring harness and a PCM.

carb or EFI? street driven car.

okay, is there a simple drawing or a 'how to' do routing the lines? what all parts I need to do the fuel system for a EFI LS1? I mean beginning from the baffled tank to the engine.

you need a fuel tank and sending unit for a 86' monte carlo that had the tbi 4.3, rockauto is a good source for both parts. You need a 99+ Corvette fuel fpr wix pt#33737(its a filter/regulator combo), some 3/8" efi rubber fuel hose, 5/16 efi rubber hose, and Dorman pt#800-155. Cut the 3/8 threaded fitting off the fuel sending unit so that the efi hose will slide right onto it, and the 5/16 hose will go on the return side of the sending unit. The dorman800-155 will be inserted to the output side of the vette fpr, another section of the 3/8 hose will then slide onto it and run from there to the fuel rail. For a fuel pump, get a walbro 255 for a Grand National, which will mount onto the fuel sending unit. Thats all, have fun, and get it done.

i test fit the brp header and they fit the car great, however the passenger side header is too close to the servo housing on the 4l60e tranny. wtf? this wouldnt work on any car! i called them aboout it they are supposed to get back to me on Monday. very frustrating.

On another note, does anyone know how to get reverse lights with the 4l60e assuming the "column connecting rod" wont work. which it wont on my car with those headers and that transmission.????

Has anyone used a fuel pump out of a 94 blazer with the 4.3 Vortec? They have a fuel pressure of 58-60 psi. Just wandering since just about any parts stores stock them.

You may want to look into purchasing the Kugel components shifter linkage.

My motor is in, just there is about a 2 inch gap between the engine and Trans. HAHAHA

Stock gm mounts on the frame in the front holes with the two uppers bolted and the one bottom with Gm clamshells

There is a two in gap between the engine and trans. Its looking like im gonna extend the tab on the crossmember.

Unless someone can tell me what i did wrong?

which plates did you use? The 1 inch setback plates are the ones you need to keep stock tranny location

Yup..the mounts are in the factory location, and they are NOT the setback plates.

Everything on my car fits in fine.
