Default Weight of your bird

Looking to see what kinda weights people are getting with there birds of prey. Seems like they are heavier than the camaro's. I started off at 3720, and am currently sitting at 3160 without me in it.

2570lbs. Race ready without driver.

If it was an N/A car we could prolly get it to 2500 even.

Anyone wanna share some things that really have helped? I heard the glass is huge, but the fitment isnt the greatest. Been thinking about cutting out the back seat brackets and some other little things.

Its a racecar.

Still has factory doors and factory rear glass in it.

Madman helped us alot with getting it light, give him a call he can get you all the lightweight parts you need.

Firebirds on average are heavier then Camaros.

In general NON Formula T/A's and WS.6's had more luxurious options and the Head light assembly (including fog lights) are heavier. The majority if not all are T-top (all but Formulas), and some Camaro it was a better chance of a hard top. Camaros had a non power Attenna vs Powered and not sure if they had a "Monsoon" type stereo system avalible.

My car was a NON-ws.6 T/A but I can tell you I had every option but the 6 disc changer and WS.6 spec option.

Options are going to vary from car to car but in reality, getting it lower is what matters most in the race. The car and driver weight.

no sir, I removed the front bumper support, and replaced it with a burkhart bar, and thats where I mounted my standalone. The only part of my car that I have taken a saw blade to is in the rear, where I mounted my Master Switch. I have been thinking tho, that it is time to put it thru some hole saws, and remove some unwanted brackets.

I am aiming for 2900, with my 250 in the car, with an iron block BBC.

This will give me 120 lbs of ballast to move wherever the chassis wants it (min weight for what I want to do with a bbc is 3000)

I will have all factory body panels on the car, with the exception of the hood... it's not a cheap thing to do but it's doable.

I will put pictures up when it's done... not really alot to show at this point other then what's cut out... it will be alot more meaningful once it's back together and people can see what is there, and how the removed material was braced/replaced, where needed.
