Guess shawn really knows what he's doing then if he can baffle all the converter gurus

Well being able to spool it and winning races are 2 different things. The tightest converter that can be spooled may not be the fastest or consistent from A-B. Having 2 cars to collect data should end up being a good thing in the long run in figuring out the converters which I think is probably a big portion of the puzzle. The question is going to be probably finding a happy medium...something that will allow you to 60', run a good number and be consistent.

Phil is exactly correct, the problem with tight converters is your window for getting down the track gets much smaller. While the tight converter will allow you to run the fastest it will not allow much error on the car set up.If you can make the tight converter work you will be the fastest man around-if not,you won't get down the track

I can't tell from the pictures and I'm sure you already did this, but make sure those fuel and oil lines are clear of the throttle linkage. I could see a lot of really bad things happening if something were to go wrong there.

There is a mininum of 3" of clearance, the lines aren't even close to the linkage.
