If I am going in 2nd which I prefer, I'll bring it up on the limiter, we like to use the same RPM for the pre-stage and stage, and bump the car in. Once we see the stage beams lay on the brakes and grab the transbrake.
If I am going in 1st where I think someone may be trying a burn down(finals friday night), I'll only use about 40-50% throttle and pre-stage, once I see him starting to move I'll roll to 100% and jump on the limiter and stage the car.
I think we have a good combination to fight nitrous car who try to burn the turbo cars down on the line. Since its got soo much compression and a big inch motor it spools really fast and we don't need much boost to go into the 1.20s(less than 5#).

There is a couple ways you can do it.
If you have a 2 step/3 step, the Low or pre-stage is hooked to either your brake pedal or a brake pressure switch, high is hooked to your transbrake
If you only have a 2 step, use 2 relays
- one relay coil side goes to the brake pressure switch
- 2nd relay coil side relay goes to the transbrake
outputs on both relays goes to the 2 step wire. You better have some good brakes.

I do have a 2 step and the way its wired is it's only on when the switch is depressed. So with adding my th400 and the brake I'd have to re wire them and have them together. So that why, like you said, you would have the pre stage and stage limiters. Thats a good idea. But what happens when the brake limiter is too high and you can't hook up on that? How do you have the brake on and have the 2 step limit it to a different rpm? Does that make any sense?

Today I changed out the lower control arms for a set that Madman made for our setup, dropped the pan to check the transmission and everything is perfect, no real wear aside from the normal breakin material. Checked the rockers and they are all exactly where they are supposed to be. The only major thing I need to do this week is fix my leaking crossover tube and we're ready to make some more hits. I plan on starting out with the same tuneup as friday to see if we can run alittle faster with better air conditions.
