Phil, how much will the height/angle of the suspension bars make a difference to your launch? or none at all?

The suspension was setup to run at the ride height in the pics. We set it up to run at the current right height and had to jack it up an inch or 2 to prevent the tires from rubbing.

Some of the times from our local class this past weekend...
Francis Johnson 4.70
Ritchie Stine 4.78
John carter 4.81
Buddy tippet 4.79
Chris little 4.82

Knocking out small projects....Got the rear end 100% welded, stripped it and painted it, got the one intercooler tube left mocked up....

Bob down @ NRC got me turned onto Rustoleum hammer paint but I looked in a couple stores but couldn't find it. Fireball found some in True Value so I headed over and picked up a pint of it. The paint brushes on, is pretty thick and levels out very nicely. Supposedly the paint is more durable than rattle can paint.

Still need to pickup axle seals monday and some right stuff to finish up the rear end.

Made some progress today...
- got the intercooler feed pipe from the firewall to the intercooler 100% welded
- got the tranny mount done
- the intercooler to intake feed pipe is ready for the v-band to get welded
- Driveshaft loop is done just need to weld it inplace
- the 2 4" elbows to redo the exhaust came in this morning so I'll tackle that tomorrow

Finally the fab work is winding down....I'd love to have the fab work done this week so I can pull everything and start painting and getting ready for final assembly.

hey phil, for that hammered paint, are you getting in the brush on can and in the grey color? I like the looks of it and looks good to do my cage in.

Yeah it comes in quart and pints if I remember correctly, make sure you stir it well and continue to stir it while in use. I tried foam and paint brush, I liked the paint brush much better. I am going to do my rear upper and lower control arms, front control arms and k-member and my cage/driveshaft loops.

No more rusty control arms =

That paint really does look nice. I have a black urethane based paint I've used, and it's really tough stuff... holds up well and looks alot like black powdercoat, that color you're using is killer though, if I saw that when I first did the car I'd probably went that way.

That is the black, I am looking for some gray to try. So far I'm happy with it. Off the get go it seems to be tougher than normal rattle can paint.

Changed from the 5" Y pipe to a 4" Y pipe and had to change the angle of the tubes by 30 degrees to get it to clear the dry sump.
