Looking for some opinions on my final setup, Do you think I should use a 1/2" or a 1" HTD drive on the alternator?
Fuel pump:
ATI Damper with drive 23 tooth
Aeromotive Belt drive pump
- 44 tooth 1" wide HTD pulley
- Machine a piece of aluminum for interferance fit and pin to ATI shaft - I'll basically drill through the shaft and install a pin to keep it in place
~ 50% ratio
Dry sump:
Jones drive - 22 tooth HTD 1" drive pulley
SCP 5 stage pump - Jones 40 tooth 1" wide HTD
- Dry sump pulley on the snout of the shaft, alternator pulley next to pump
Alternator: Should I use a 1/2" or 1" pulley??
Mounted next to dry sump low in the bay
Jones 40 tooth mounted on dry sump
Alternator gets a either a 18 or 24 tooth pulley
18 gets me basically a 1:1 ratio of the alternator to engine speed
24 gets me a .95 :1 ratio
we're using a 16 volt system
Any opinions are welcome!

Today we saw some light at the end of the tunnel. Got the heads re-torqued 2x this morning and everything is buttoned up except for the oil pan. Got most of the mockup on the nightmare drive system done and its some close clearance in some areas. I'm going to pickup a piece of 1/4" aluminum and mill out another plate for the driver side. Still got to hang the altnernator next to the dry sump on the loose belt.

Great work Phil. I dont even want to offend you in trying to guess how many hours you have into the project. When its all said and done, you shouldnt even start it. Just trailer the bitch on the hot rod car show circuit.
