How much power can you get from bolt-on's and tune???
I'm thinking about trying to push the limits and try to squeeze my 01SS for all its worth without cracking the engine open. My plan is to shoot for 400rwhp with full bolt-ons and a badass dynotune.
Is this possible? What's the most power someone has gotten with a full bolton car?
FYI. My plan was to utilize the edelbrock stepped lt's, fast intake/bigger tb, bigger MAF, under-drive crank pulley, and possibly an e-waterpump if totally necessary.
Oh and to give some background on my car, its a stock 01 SS with nothing more than a lid/bellows/filter and a dyno tune and it hit 340rwhp and 362rwtq. I've only got 60 to go. But is it possible, that's the question!

See that's what confuses the HELL outa me. I just made a thread asking people what I should dyno and they said 325-335. I've got MORE mods than you and you dyno'd amazingly well. I just dont understand...

I have just strapped down a **** load of cars to the dyno. And NEVER seen a stock f-body put down that kind of rwhp. Bolt on's never hit 400rwhp. Some have bought cars they thought were stock and had LS6 heads or a small cam and put down unexpected #'s. Your car could have 1.8 rockers or something. I just doubt with your mods you would put down those #'s on the Dyno I use.

I had a 2000 6 speed that put down 315 RWHP, and gained 20 with the FLP headers. Everything else stock. I dont see why he couldn't get more gains with a lid than I did with headers..
Seriously, something has been done to the car already, before you recieved it, or the dyno is incorrect. Good way to tell is to take it to the track, & post up your MPH.

Well, I bought the car used from the second owner. The car is stock, stock pulley, stock rockers, stock everything. The first owner kept maticulous (sp?) service records and everything was done by the dealer. The second owner had it for just over a year and never touched it. I got it with the stock exhaust and intake lid. Only thing I did at the time of the dyno was add a K&N drop in filter, SLP lid and smooth bellows oh and plugs and wires (MSD wires, NGK TR55 plugs, dont really count them as much of a performance gain). It put down 325rwhp on the first pull with the stock tune, after a good 4-5 hours of tuning, we got an end result of 340rwhp and 362rwtq. Since the dyno, all I have done was add a single in/single out magnaflow muffler to the stock piping.
My car is no where near setup for drag racing as it has a full RR/AutoX suspension setup including big sway bars and stiff shocks and springs (650lbs on Koni DA's)
As far as the Dyno being incorrect, slim chance. There have been arguments regarding this issue before, with this dyno and cars (flash99 on here) have been taken to other dynos (A&A Corvette) to prove a point and they ended up dynoing higher at A&A, a "reputable" dyno.
All Im saying is that the dyno is accurate and my car really hasnt been modded by anyone but me.
I just want some reputable predictions to see if this would even be possible, and what the most powerful (and verified) bolt on car has been that people know of.

unless your car accidently got LS6 heads slipped on it in production your numbers are just abnormal.

I agree... I have a very strong car... and no, it does not have LS6 heads (Ive checked the casting numbers)

I've seen a virtually stock WS6 made 344rwhp on a dynojet and only go 108 at the track. Some dynos just read higher.
For your original question, I don't see the car making any more than 380rwhp with every external bolt on mod on that same dyno. The car won't benefit too much from the fast 90/90 over the LS6 manifold with just external bolt ons. I figure 20rwhp from LT's, maybe 10rwhp with the fast 90, 5 from the pully, and 5 from an EWP.

Since you got 340rwhp with your mods and full tuning I would say you will fall short of 400hp with bolt-ons. 60hp is hard to get with the last bolt-ons you need. I'm thinking 380rwhp on the same dyno.Just make sure it isn't an over badd *** dyno tune because the car might knock like a bitch down the street.
