Hey guys. Welp, gas is killing me. I can no longer afford to pay $60 every week or two to keep my baby running so she just might be going up for sale. If you're intrested, gimmie a holler.

Haha, I dont make enough for a beater. (I make $14k a year as an airman) Besides, i'm wanting to start on an rx7/ls1 project. If i can clear this car ill be able to take a new loan for the other. I can as it is, but my credit is excellent and i dont want to jerpordize it....feel me?
calculated it up last weekend....im still getting 24-26 mpg on the highway

You make more than 14k a year. Base pay for a E3 with 2 years or less in service is like 19k a year (before taxes of course), there is no way they take 5k of taxes.
But either way, what you make is your own business...I don't think it would be a good idea to sell the only running vehicle you have to start a project when your reason for selling the TA is because you can't afford it. If you can't afford to keep a car that is reliable, how will you be able to fund a project?
Just my .02 Hell i make alot more than you and I cant afford to do a project car.
But its your decision in the end. You did mention getting a loan for the Rx7...You should check with your bank bc I think you will have a hard time getting a loan for a vehicle that old..

Hmm. I checked my tax return...says 14k early take home salary. Maybe it means something else? Ill be the first to admit I dont know **** about taxes.
You have a point. That's why im just checking to see if the market is out there. I highly doubt the car will sale. If not, i'll suck it up and keep it....plus...everytime i walk outside and see that front end...i want to keep it still. Just damn.....it seems like i throw so much money into it only to break ****
gotta pay to play i guess!

I just think if you want to sell it because you can't afford it, then get something economical that you can afford.
If you can't afford it, selling it and getting something that will cost more monthly isn't the right idea.
You should just put away a little money every chance you get and spend a few hundred bucks and get a beater. Deals are out there, you just have to find them. I sold my 94 Accord that was in pretty good condition for 600 bucks to a friend before i transferred. Just keep an eye out and ask people who are leaving the area too

I have a Wife kid and a house and i pay for three cars and a project so it can be done just gotta budget. But I agree on the RX7 project how do you plan on working on it? I'd keep it but thats just me. Good luck either way.

But from listening to his reason on why he wanted to sell the car, it didn't seem like getting a project would be the right thing to do. He is basically selling his only mode of transportation bc its too expensive to get a project that will probably end up costing more to build up than it would've cost him to keep the TA.
