you really can't compare to a turbo exhaust size to an n/a exhaust size. The turbo takes alot of the heat energy out of the exhaust-creating a cooler denser exhaust-needing much less room to exit.

good point, never considered that. but on the other hand, he was still pushing 1700hp worth of exhaust through that single 4inch pipe, and thats still amazing lol.
on that note i have a question for yall
On the previous setup of Brian's car, the discharge was 5" and the DP was tapered down to 4" and 4" all the way out. how much restriction/horsepower loss do you think that generated? the way i understand it, it limited max boost which produced a horse power ceiling, BUT assuming he had a full 5" all the way out with a same maximum of 33psi what do yall think the difference would have been?

got the wing finished today (mounted the other spill plate, shaped both spill plates and added the support.

Started on the cold side...made the firewall pass-thru...that darn thin aluminum plate warped something fierce

That thin alum sheet looks like an ocean wave! Mental note, use a thicker plate then you have to there!

Looks great though, whole car's coming along very nicely. z

Shoot me a call when you get a couple min.

Do silcone couplers go on the cold side firewall thru bulkheads? Or does pipe pass through the other pipe?

I guess you could have v-banded the two pipes on both sides as well

I'm debating on picking up some thicker stock to rebuild it...

car looks kind of naked without the factory spoiler on it lol, those tires look pretty sweet though. are you going to leave the factory floor pans tacked like that or fully weld them?

What thickness material did you use for the firewall plate?

I like that downpipe, I have to do something about the 5" pipe I have thats doing nothing but taking up space...I think a spilt into dual 3" pipes will be the way to go.

dual 3s is less than a single 5. to area match you need dual 3.5s
