From your previous post, it sounds like you have already purchased a 6-rib kit?

If I am mistaken and you have not, then just hold off and buy an 8-rib kit from the begining. Don't fool around with the 6-rib.

You NEED to pin the crank!!! IF you don't you will have inconsistent boost and risk ruining the nose of the crank.

I agree, the crank bolt can loosen up and the balancer can wobble and tearup the crank. Bob

You might be lucky and have no slippage issues. If you haven't installed it yet, go ahead and pin the crank. The DIY fail-proof kit is only like $120 IIRC.

x2 on that one! What are you looking to make/run on your setup? I'm looking at getting the "aster" bracket to avoid belt slip. Hoping to see 16-18psi maxed out and possibly over spinning her just a bit. I'll take pics of all the parts and the headders and all the good stuff!!

all these conversion kits seem to cost a ton of money. IMO if i get to that point ill spend a few bucks more and just get a cog kit.

Either way its cool other options are out there. Lets keep the pics coming so we can oooooo-n-ahhhhh over all this stuff

Yeah The Spring tentioners do cost a lot , But after burning out (3) thats right three Procharger solid teinioner pulley/bearning asembleys at $100 bucks a pop, i had enough. My auto spring tentioner system is worth every penney and more, the time and heart that went into designing it is worth a lot more, never mind it works Great! I am at 15.2 PSI out of my D1-sc and i am still 3 pulley sizes away from maxing it out, I know i would see 20-22 PSI if i was brave enough But at 740 RWHP the car is pretty scarry as it is.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to go ahead and pin it...need to order a new crank bolt anyways, might as well do it now.

I've got another problem now, though...I bought this kit used, and I didn't realize it until now but I'm missing the dowel pins that are used on the crank pulley for the 6 rib setup. I guess the dowel pins hook up to the balancer or something? Really not sure because I have no idea what they are supposed to look like. Is there anywhere I can get these things, or is there another method I can use here? Maybe studs?

You should be able to locally source the dowel pins, although if you need to order a new crank bolt you might as well get the dowel pins at the same time. Here is a copy of the installation instructions, which many help you out. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...html?item=1043 Bob

i wanted to look at the LSX Solutions tensioner kit, but their website is under const, hard to read with pics posted on top of the info-i use a vette front acces dr setup, with the 2000-2004 vette Procharger setup, didnt know it they had a kit for that or just an F body retro
with the ATI (Perf Prod.) 7.5 8 rib crank pulley, and a 4" dr pulley, on the dyno i only saw 11 lbs boost under the carb, 617 RWHP, 403, AFR 225's, EPP cam-(i dont know where all these huge dyno #'s come from, but i never see them, lol)not sure if i have belt slip or not, on the street i see more boost, but i read that in the carb hat, fig a 1 lb loss thru the carb

heres some early picks of the Chevelle with the old 6.0 ($400) and Procharger, was kind of a budget deal to begin with, i do all my own work, so i save money
got a killer deal orig on the partial Procharger Vette kit, scored a new, never used 3 core sheetmetal Procharger (not imported) intercooler on ebay ($300)
made up my own tubing-it orig made 488 RWHP, ran some high 10's @125
i orig had a switch/pitch turbo 400, i later built a 4L80E on the cheap, best addition ever-ran on Pass Time, filmed last Sept, just aired last week
i now have the 403 in it, more power, lol 617 RWHP, 518 TORQ-the converter def didnt like the dyno
the car is all steel, ful stock interior w/6 pt bar, pretty heavy car
i orig built it to see how it would all work, with the int. of later upgrades-it was so trouble free, i ran it 1 1/2 years like that, lol
i have had prob 10 Procharged cars, B/B's, S/B's, some with massive power, i just like boost, lol-they have all been street cars, i just prefer track rentals now, or a not to crowed T & T, not much into waiting in line for an hour to run anymore
