Anyone who thinks a D1SC cant make the power and is a good upgrade from the P1SC is mistaken, F1R is a waste unless you have a better system to drive it than an 8rib. May work on the dyno but the acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear at the track it will slip. F1A is a good blower, really hits hard down low but it makes the heat as well. IMO LS engines and D1SC is one of the best street/strip combos going. Especially if you get a helical D1SC, F1+ is real noisemaker, but it makes the power for sure.

Nice car Congrats on the times, good to see you kept it around.

Sorry one more dumb noob. Im wanting to buy a p-1 kit how can i tell if it is the quieter version or the louder? And if i get the quieter is there a way to make it louder? Also other than pinning the crank is there anything else that needs to be done to make it last awhile? Any help appreciated!

F1R is a popular blower for folks running in the high 7's like Jason Lee (7.8's in a Mustang @ 3200). Going from an D1SC to a F1R is a very big jump.

Understood. Looking to run the car as a M6 for a little bit and then putting a built 4L80 in it with some 3.42's I think. Since my blower is the older 5:0.1 steup up ratio I want to upgrade the blower. I want to be able to run 9's when I get the auto in but all I'm expecting with the 6spd is a low 10 with a high trap speed for now. Since the F1R might be, ok...is overkill what would the recommendations be? F1C? Thanks for the knowledgeable input...always appreciated!

Na, I'm playing around with this new 5.0 mustang, these have a ton of potential and it will keep me occupied for a few months

Swap cams in there and I bet you get mighty close to 8s, be pretty cool with a D1SC.

You can run 9's with either a D-1SC or an F-1A. Bob

That's actually what i was thinking as well, so I'm glad you are verifying that. What crank pulley diameter were you using, and did you ever dyno your car?

Well I think I'm going to look at running the F1C then. I want the CFM capabilities if I decide to go with a larger engine down the road. I believe the upgrade cost is around the same.

Yeah I ran that pulley for a little while so I could save up for my fuel system and of course it didnt work out to well lol. I had a racetronix hot wire kit on a stock pump and it made like close to 600 on 7psi at 5500rpms. Ran out of fuel after that. I was using the stock 7.65 crank pulley. Now Im running a 3.4 pulley with Asters bracket at about 16psi.

I would think that LS1REdZ is referring to a d1sc but I could be wrong.
