Here is pass in my car with a waste of a blower (D1). Went the times in my sig 100lbs lighter in negative DA conditions at 17.5# of boost. Nice, simple reliable combo that has been problem free for 60 passes at the track, no belt eating.

I guess you could say the sky is blue and somebody will disagree and try to flame over it. The D-1 is a waste in the sense of $ IMO. With other comparables - including what the p1 is capable of... Everybody that I know of who bough a d-1 later traded up again to an F series... (wasting $ in the interim) and its just my opinion and as with anything it depends on your goals, no need to get your panties in a bunch.

I'll post up pretty soon with a graph and stuff. It gonna crack the 8 mark. Just need some 80lb injectors.

Anybody need some 60lb injectors?
Can you give me some more info on your setup as I am planning on running 60 injectors and the same pulley sizes? I though I would be good to go with the 60#ers?

Running about 9.1:1 compression on a 370 with TEA Stage 2 LS6 heads, EPP blower cam, and stock TB/LS6 intake. Hit about 16psi on the dyno and made 780rwhp. I was at about 95% duty cycle a good cold night back in November. Car was running lean and needed to add fuel, but i didnt have much room on my 60s so Im gonna end up getting some 80s or 95s.

Sure they do. I just dont think the D-1 is a smart buy with all the other options available. There is nothing it wrong with it, just offering my .02, to anybody who may be considering an upgrade. Its much cheaper to as big is you CAN because you MAY decide later that you want more.

Yeah I would love a F1 over my D1 right now, but I cant afford it. Most ppl prolly cant afford the F1 blower and the D1 will get them by. How much is a new D1SC? I know used ones are in the $1500 range. New F1s are in the 3000+ range new.

Well I will agree with that statement 100%! I was originally planning my build for my D1SC but jumped at the opportunity to run a F1. I actually plan on upgrading it to a F1R soon.

I wish I had F1A but the D1SC is working good for now. I have some belt slippage so I ordered the Aster bracket from Bob, hope it helps with the ET. Here is a video of my best pass 9.88 @ 134 with 1.31 60 ft.

The advantage of the D1 is that you can run it on a stock engine then upgrade to a new shortblock later. Running an F series on a stock engine does not work well, you just cant get it slowed down enough. Besides a D1 is good to 800rwhp, in reality most setups do not surpass that number. OTher advantages of the D1 are that it works better with a normal 8 rib setup in terms of reducing belt slip (ie more reliable) and it is available with a helical gear option to quiet things down. The sound of an F series blower is not for everyone, especially if daily driven.

I'm actually trying to decide if I want to upgrade to an F1R come tax time lol. I'd like to do this once and be over it. I might try different motor combos but I want 1 end all blower. I'm shooting for around 800ish to the wheel and since its still a 6spd maybe a low low 10 at a very high trap speed lol

all i know about a f1r is that it takes a lot of power to turn that thing so youll need a very strong motor to run one. A f1a will get you to 800 with no problems at all and run more efficent FWIW

Best I have run with a D1SC/347 was 9.17 @ 149mph with a 347 @ 3350lbs.

Took another 3-4 months of fine tuning to get the same combo to run 8.92 @ 152 at the same weight with an F1A.

Anyone who thinks a D1SC cant make the power and is a good upgrade from the P1SC is mistaken, F1R is a waste unless you have a better system to drive it than an 8rib. May work on the dyno but the acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear at the track it will slip. F1A is a good blower, really hits hard down low but it makes the heat as well. IMO LS engines and D1SC is one of the best street/strip combos going. Especially if you get a helical D1SC, F1+ is real noisemaker, but it makes the power for sure.
