I had to get the whole bottom removed, then had a new plate installed, 1/4" thick aluminum, it held after that. I did this to the stock one just having a litte fun on the highway:

We've done 16 psi in this 740 rwhp Corvette with methanol with the twin intercoolers, they're nearly identical to the f body intercoolers. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=54 Bob

Default D1 Procharger

I am making 14# on a 403 LS2 with twin 4.5" intercoolers and a D1. The meth keeps the IAT's in line. They work well for what I am doing.

I have blown that aluminum plenum box up a few times. Last time I think I got it fixed. No troubles so far. I think I am in the Top 5 with making a FULL weight car with the twin 4.5"s and a D1 go single digits. Still got cold AC too!

Here is my plenum handy work 3rd time around.....
There is another gusset all the way along the bottom not visible where they like to split too.

Here is a video of a 9.80 pass. Nothing special, still got a 4L65E to boot! This car weighed in at 3810# across the scales at the shootout this year.

heres a turbo car for example........

" bone stock shortblock with bone stock 317 heads, the only aftermarket parts being cam, valve springs, pushrods, and head studs. 3300 lb raceweight, s400-80mm turbo, Jgs 44mm wastegate, Tial 50mm bov, 4l80e transmission, 3.50 gear. Stock pcm, 2 walbros, 80lb injectors, #10 feed, and return. All done on $1.99 (e85) The car made 796 rwhp through the locked 4l80e on 15 psi...9.304 @146.59"

How fast do you think you can get that same car to go with a procharger? Do you think a procharger can hang with them times at all if set-up and everything maxed out?

If you put a ProCharger of equivalent size, yes. One thing we must remember, the turbo will be able to spin way more RPMs then what the equivalent PC would. So the power poteitial for the turbo is a little higher.

There is no doubt that turbos make more power and can run faster, bit I like knowing that with my SDCE 8 rib ProCharger, I will have more trouble free miles, and NO LAG!! Plus I love the sound
