Man, I am realy liking changing my iron 427" 4.07" block that already has HardBlok up to the water pump ports to a 398" with stronger pistons, lower compression, and less oil burning. I wonder if my Eagle 6.125" rods would live with the power potintial of an F1A/C/D? $1445 for pistons, rings, crank, and bearings is a deal!

Mine is in and running quite well. I still have to come up with a rear end, turbo kit, and fuel system before it sees any boost though. What I saw was very good machine work, proper use of lube, and all the signs that they actually did everything they charged labor for. You won't find a shop that can beat their labor cost either.

It makes 60psi of oil pressure at a 1,000rpm cold idle with 20w 50 VR1 non synthetic and a half bottle of Red Line break in additive. I have a Melling 10296 HV HP oil pump with the High Pressure spring removed and the stock relief setting spring in it's place. Started up on the third rotation.

Not a boosted build but an AES motor that has about 40 passes on it. What really impressed me and others that are familiar with the ls platform is how quiet the top end is from what is a really well set up valve train.

Course Jared Shepard put 1050rwhp through his 390 with a rear mount turbo.

Is this GTO running an LS2 alum block? How did you get 390 out of this block, I thought it required an iron block?
