lol nahlmy plan is to be completely done by Saturday. I dont want to wait on any orders.
*tomorrow pull head and go to O'Reilly and exchange entire driver's side. Its actually coming from #1 cylinder. You can hear it with the stethoscope, but im going to replace that entire side.
*Friday ill put everything back together
*Saturday im going back to my tuners and were going to do the exhaust, the flex joints on the down pipe are leaking as well so were going to fix that also. You could hear it when we put the truck on the dyno. I have a video but i dont know how to upload it from my phone. Also he wants to but some more brackets for my intercooler so we will probably do that too, he also wants to get rid of any couplings on my truck and put the quick releases clamps, we may not make it that far though, we will see how time favors us.

1 & 3 lifters are damn near falling out the trays, this is where the noise was coming from.

don't think they can , there purpose is to prevent turning to keep the wheel aligned, loose up and down won't hurt anything but if you can feel play in a turning motion that could cause a problem

I had a set of Morel lifters do the same thing as OP is describing. After a WOT pull they would get noisy and then quiet back down after a bit. Never had an issue with them besides the noise. I was revving the engine to around 7600rpm. I was using 20w-50 oil and they do not recommend that weight for their lifters.

Lifters are changed, heading to do the exhaust now. Haven't tried a wot pull yeh because my cross over has a massive exhaust leak now on the flex pipe so need to fix that first.

Got the exhaust back under the truck, tieing the 3 inch to the 4 inch fender exit was interesting to watch. I made an attempt but it was kicking my butt so my tuner stepped in and made it happen. He pie cut a few pieces with this big band saw looking thing that you bolt the pipe down too and set your degrees. That tool made it happen and of course he welded everything. Im just waiting on the paint on the wrap to dry and the cut off is remote activation. I just kept it that way, the only thing I changed on it is its made to hook up to the cigarette lighter. I didnt want to do that so I just ground it and gave it key 12v.

That does look really cool, I think this is the best setup for a turbo street car. Keep us updated buddy

As for videos I think the easiest way is to upload them to YouTube then throw the link to said video here

thanks and yeh it was tricky but we got it done, my next goal is to get rid of any couplings on the cold side. The two on the intercooler will be replaced with quick release v bands. There is one on the driver's side where the cold side 90 degrees by the battery so we will make a 90 degree with piping and then on the throttle bottle there is a 4 inch to 3 inch step down and I want to weld a quick release there too. Motion raceworks has one thats aluminum but its 150$ so im kind of shopping around to see if i can find one a little cheaper. Were also going to weld some more brackets on the intercooler so we can drop it down a bit and put a little more space between it and the ac condenser. Also were going to build a bracket for the fender exit to help support a bit of that weight from the exhaust.

That Motion Raceworks piece is pretty nice. And it allows for flex, which is important in a street car.

Regardless, thanks for keeping this thread going. It’s good to watch you overcome all the crazy challenges you’ve encountered. Gives hope to everyone else building a ride.

yeh im not having much luck finding one, it looks like all the ones I find are for stainless steel so i may have to bite the bullet and just get that one and thanks man. I try! I can't stand my truck to be broke, if im off work i can't physically allow myself to go inside and sit down and do nothing knowing my truck needs attention and i know the truck so well now so anything i do on it now im fairly comfortable doing.

Even the bad experiences are still good experience because as you stated, you know your truck very intimately.
I'm gaining the same experience with my current project, learning where all the wiring goes, removing some, adding others.
But it's all good because I'm getting to know the car better and better.
