Well I sell Chevrolet's.... and at that, that's very interesting being they must have stockpiled the LS2's for Trailblazer SS's for this next production year.
Not really sure what to forecast for the Camaro --- The LS2 seems like a viable proven option, but in essence I see and L76 or L92 motor being the way they decide to roll with this puppy.

LS2 is at the end of its life cycle. it will be used in the TBSS for the next model year but it is being phased out. The LS3 is its replacement. the G8 doesnt have the LS2. Im pretty sure its the L76. anyways by the time the camaro makes production the LS2 will be completely phased out.

And Ford wouldn't be screwed without blowers........they're just being lazy. There's too much politics and beancounter-mongerism in the company right now for a proper big cubes motor to see development. They could easily develop a production DOHC 5.0 that could push out 400hp....but I'm not holding my breath that they'll get with the program anytime soon.
As far as future favorites.......well, the GT500 and Challenger will be too heavy for my tastes, and the Camaro is just too ugly. Looks like I'll have to hope for another contestant, or just stick to modding what I've got right now.

I've also heard about a possible 5.8 as well as the 6.2........but hp estimates I've seen as of late are a complete joke. The 5.8 should realistically be in the 420-450hp range. The 6.2 should be in the 500hp area. I mean.....these are OHC cam motors we're talking about. That many cubes in a DOHC config should make considerably more power than an OHV of the same displacement.........IF they are engineered correctly, I should say.
I don't have alot of faith in Ford doing right by the Mustang faithful at this point. Yea, they gave us a 500hp 'Stang, but at the expense of weight balance...and a less than stellar suspension setup. Ford could put out a 400ish hp DOHC 5.0, drop it into the current S197 chassis, put in a good performance suspension with a 4 link rear, and then give the car the GT500's big brakes and 6 speed. Offer it as the new Boss 302 for about 35K and you've got a winner. But hey......I've been called crazy before. Ford's a bit of a wild card in the future pony/musclecar scene right now.

I don't know how accurate any of that info is. I've heard alot about a possible 5.0 OHC to replace the current 4.6 in the GT's. But if its less than 345-350hp stock, that's lame.

Personally, I think Ford REALLY needs to work on the fuel economy of their <4 cylinder engines. Right now, their powerplants are pretty much below average across the field when it comes to mpg. You'd think that a 4.6L wouldn't use more gas than a GM 5.3 or 6.0L, but somehow it manages to do it.

As much as I Love that ls7 Lets leave that ls7 in the corvette The ls7 would simply make the Camaro over priced. Rather Mod the ls3 and its been confirmed that the new camaro will no longer have the ls2
