LS2 camaro... Highly doubt that the LS7 would be used in the camaro, but one can always dream as well

I would like the new Camaro with an LS7, in Silver and black side stripes or the other way around.

Oh man...I would opt for the 6.4 Hemi ltr but then there is the 700-HP 8.4ltr V-10.

I'd choose the Challenger over the Stang any day. I'd choose a new camaro with LS power hands down over either one.

I would kill my own mother for an ls7 camaro, but it probably won't happen. However, does anyone remember the old COPO (corporate office produciton order, right?) camaros that came with the corvette 427s?

Prolly the LS7 Camaro, because of the engine!

But, I love the Challenger also. Hopefully they downsize it though

I said LS2 camaro, because I know I won't be able to afford the LS7 one. I'd much rather have the LS7 though.

There is not going to be an LS7 camaro. You people act like the LS7 is the end all of GM engines. Remember when everyone was making LS1's run 500+hp reliably? You guys act like you'll never mod the things.

I'd much rather have a car that's a slight underdog with mod potential. That'll take you way farther than an electronically-governed HEMI. The GT500's are monsters but i'd never dream on wasting that much money on something with such a powerful engine and yet so many drawbacks to the platform. If i wanted that i'd get a big old school muscle car.

What i really, really hope to see in the new Camaro is an engine choice of LS4 or LS2. The LS4 being the base model, complete with all the goody-goody gas saving stuff, and the LS2 for the big boys. With the mileage you can get out of those LS4's there's barely any reason to go back to a V6. I suppose they could slap the new 3.9 in there, but i'd rather not see it.

Right now though, the one big thing keeping me from wanting the new camaro, is the stupid exhaust pipe valance. Makes it look like a couple fart pipes.

Only year that I'm aware of that had problems with modding a Hemi 5.7 but require and additional aftermarket as with a TEC controller or a Greddy version is 2003. However that changed for 04 thru 06.

Your point requires more research with the real potential threat of the Hemi 5.7 was indeed design ground up for racing. Even the Chevy engine gurus that had that opporunity with Hot Road in 2003 admitted that. This is the engine to watch for when it comes to mods. A good case in point, in the past we ran a blower on a 5.7 with 6PSI [intercooled] , the gained was better than the Triton 5.4 with the same application. Numbers were 517-rwHP. 04 another 5.7-liter was used with a turbo application and pushed over 610rwHP and was showned at SEMA. Both were not running at any near max capacity as with the lame duck 5.4 triton motor when it shown with 21-PSI at Chicago Auto Show as the next Lightning. As a Mustang owner, there are fine limits on what you can get out of that motor versus hype.

That being the case, there is still two more Hemis that has not been shown that will make it debue soon....

If it comes with a ls7 of course I would take that. I would be happy just to finally own a brand new off the lot camaro with a ls2.

My next performance car will probably be either a C6, FRC C5, or an '02 TA. And the cheaper I buy it, the faster it'll be when I'm done modding it.

to tell you the truth guys, it would be better to have a tweaked ls2 with better bore and stroke results, and maybe a better boost option rather than a over priced ls7. I would appreciate paying 31 to 33 thousand for a 450 - 475 hp camaro, rather then paying in the 40s for a 500 hp camaro. And you have to realize that the more hp these cars gain the more they have to go through testings and have a less chance of coming to production. Ever hp range comes with a price range remember that

For me it will depend on what the new Camaro weighs. The Ford and Dodge cars will probably both be pretty heavy, if Chevy can make a Camaro that weighs as much or less than a 4th gen than I'll definitely consider one.

How about a 2009 Camaro SS LS7 rated at something like 470HP...

And putting 500+ to the rear wheels

Easy GT500.
I honestly doubt whatever Chevy sticks in the camaro will run with a Shebly, a GT stang probbly but not a Shebly they are much higher trimmed and priced cars, they normally are faster as well well should be lol. We shouldn't talk about the mid 90s Cobras.... dark days.

I still think knowing exactly Chevy will really give us will help but I say its a safe bet the GT500 will be the fastest, to me it'll look the best. Probbly only stock F/I as well.

I do drool over the new stang GTs such a sharp looking car, quick too boot. The Cobra is just awesome!
