Default Another Accident

I will paint the picture: Driving down the interstate at 12:30 am, in the center lane. The speed limit is 70, so my cruise control was set at 75. There was a fair amount of traffic around me, but I was in the front of the "pack." I will also add that there are no street lights on this place in the interstate. So we go over a little bit of a hill (just big enough to NOT be able to see over the other side) and RIGHT as we crested the hill and started the decent (it had been raining that day as well so there was a bit of water on the road) I see sitting on the dividing line between my lane and the left lane a dark dresser or nitestand or something.

Keep in mind:
75 mph, cruise control, other cars, no street lights, wet road, big and dark ******* box in road.

Ok, so I have about 10 feet (maybe a half second) to react. My choices are
1. Slam on my brakes, get rearended and cause a huge pileup on the road
2. Swerve (pit maneuver) into one of the other cars next to me, causing an accident, maybe killing somebody else
3. Swerve into a guard rail, possible A **** load of trees that are on both sides of the road, possibly killing myself
4. Nail that bitch head on and get a new car
5. Try to move over in the lane as far away as I could to minimize the damage

So obviously, I went with choice 5. And I will be Damned if that ************ just laughed at me. I saw it on the side of the road the next day and it was STILL intact! My car on the other hand, needs a new driver side fender, front bumper, marker light, driver's side headlight, fender liner and alignment.

:b ang:

the best part is, my insurance tried to tell me that the accident was MY fault . I disputed the claim and won, but still, thats some bullshit.

Yay for a $100 deductable.

Or it was the cube from Transformers because that ****** got nailed by at least 3 or 4 other cars and it was perfect when I passed by on the way home later. I wanted to stop and set it on fire.... or shoot it with my .40, but I didnt' feel like stopping in a median, jumping a guard rail, and playing Frogger (substitute me for the frog) across the interstate to do it.
None of my furniture is that sturdy dammit

Glad you're alright, and that the car will live.

I don't know why more people don't do this, but when I see any kind of foreign object on the roads I stop and move it out of the way; doing so may save lives and who knows, maybe a few F-bodies too.

At the very least, whoever dropped that motherf**ker should've come back for it...

That is a bunch of bullshit. How could somebody not notice that falling off their truck?? At least you're alright and insurance is covering the car.

well... it is impossible to find a good condition front bumper cover used, so I am getting brand new OEM bumper cover and driver side fenders now. 2 weeks and counting of not driving it. I hate my rental car
